December 30, 200916 yr Has anyone researched what the bearing and race #s are to upgrade to tapered bearings in the headstock of a ty250? If they are a common size that is available at a auto parts house I would not have to wait on shipping.
December 30, 200916 yr TY250 what? Tapered needle roller bearing sets for TY250 twinshock are available as an aftermarket part for about $50 from motorbike shops everywhere and on eBay. For TY250 mono or TY250Z I have no idea what is available
December 30, 200916 yr Author Sorry! TY250C. I've seen all of them on the web, just thought if they were a somewhat common bearing set that I could pick them up locally. Thanks!
December 30, 200916 yr Gday, they are an unusual (non ISO) size. Go with the Feetups' previous post - see your local bike shop. The TY's use a very common Yamaha neck bearing set, readily available and the only way to go. I like All-Balls kits as they come with all the necessary seals as well. Cheers, Stork
December 30, 200916 yr Author Thanks for the info! Just thought I would throw it out there just in case!
December 31, 200916 yr Searay, My guess is you are correct, they probably are an "off the shelf" item. Take a set of calipers to one and check the Timken or other bearing site. If I remember correctly we found that the main bearings and seals where stock items. Alan
