anyoldiron Posted May 25, 2010 Report Share Posted May 25, 2010 Beta engines do develop a characteristic whine some more than others it would seem.If its not too excessive and youv'e got oil in there it's probably just that.Change of oil could have contributed.Maybe. jamersby Posted May 29, 2010 Report Share Posted May 29, 2010 My lads rev 80 developed a whurring whining noise from the clutch along with a shrill type squealing sound that got worse under load or higher revs, taking the clutch casing off I found small metal filings at the bottom of the casing, it turned out to be the clutch/gear drive cogs were worn so I replaced them, problem solved. this may not be the problem with yours but worth checking maybe.
