I am rebuildig a Francis Barnett trials bike and was trying to keep it original as much as possibe. i have been told that if i was to attempt a trial i must have folding footrests Is this true? I have just spent many hours removing folding rests and smoothing the welds down.

Regards Ken

Sorry, Ken. Whoever told you was right I'm afraid. TSR8 of the current ACU handbook talks about bikes' brake/clutch levers, mudguards, throttle, wheels etc and states that 'Footrests must be of the folding type'.
