Hi Chaps,

I'm looking into have my frame on my evo anodised in black, like the top trial team beta's, can anyone reccomend somewhere to take it to, I've looked at Kelcoat, but not sure, Any reccomendations would be great, Also will it probably be a fortune to have it done?

Cheers for your time.

I've been using a company called Birmingham Hard Anodising. A small family run firm who will do one offs - often as a cash job. Never done anything as big as a frame though. I'm sure if you give them a call with the overall dimensions they'll be able to sort you out.

hope there aren't any tax men reading this reply

I would think twice before attempting this, totally impracticle unless you want a garage queen!

I no what your saying, I prefer the black much more than the silver though, I thought anodising would be a much better option than power coating, due to it being a lot tougher.

anodising isnt tougher than powder coating, anodising is really only a natural layer of oxide dyed to the colour of your choice, in hard anodising the surface is etched but not as robust as powder coat.

Well whatever is toughest will do, i've seen so many black frames mega chipped, What is the finish on the new 2011? I no it's quite a rough finish, I'm not fussed on what method it is done by, just as long as it's not mega expensive & is very tough!

Has anyone used Kelcoat before?
