Hi Harrison,

I also have a similar question and wondered whether i could tag my question on with yours ?

My brother is 14 going 15 and im looking to get him his first bike (i've been out of trials for 3 years but looking to get back in)

Would he be able to cope with a 250, or is a 125 really the best bet?

What sort of age range is a 125 good for?

Competition wise, it would only be on a local level

Sorry to hijack your thread harrison but hope thats ok

Matt

If you want to compete with a 250 you need to be aged 17. At 14 and 15 you cannot ride Trials unless you are on a 125 due to insurance implications for the clubs. To clear up the confusion Once a youth reaches 16 they can switch to a bike over 125 even if they have not completed the full year. However Championships usually rule that once you have switched you cannot go back to a 125.

Corrected.
