February 25, 201214 yr An electric trial bike would be ideal for me but I know nothing about them. I could trail through x amount of web pages and learn everything one could know but I just want brief specific info: How much does the best one cost, and which one is currently the best? How long can you ride one for before the batteries die? What sort of batteries power them, and what is their life span? How fast does one go? How do the compare to ic powered bikes? How long do they take to charge? Come on guys fill me in.. What's the crack?
February 26, 201214 yr Hi, Here is my understanding of the situation. KTM has a electric production bike called a free ride [also with a detuned 350 4 stroke - very cool] - both sort of hybrid between trials and off road. You tube both for some great footage. Gas gas has a prototype ?????? Osset sells mini trials bikes - very cool. Looking fwd to when they are in production and cost effective - I believe the biggest minus of any off road sport has been noise - they cant hear us we are not there. Modern 4 strokes that get the noisy after market muffler are not helping - on an MX track out in the bush fine - close to residential - not good.
May 13, 201214 yr Yes, I thought that too,it really looks the part; right down to the fake air-box(battery-box?). It seems like someone's been paying close attention to the aesthetics,I think the manufacturer's realised that it must look like a current, (pun ) modern,contemporary,trials bike product. What's the old saying in engineering: 'If it looks right then it is right'?

May 14, 201214 yr I still wonder about the CG on there with the batteries up top? Yet there are some lively designs out there, at a cost! Downside is there is no clutch, so rev and pop is not an option, nor is slip the clutch or ride the flywheel, however power is reported instant if need be, all done by the throttle controlled program, so yes, it could be maped to your liking I suppose.
