September 14, 201213 yr hi what oil would be fine for a scorpa 175f? i see they recommend motul 300v fully synthetic, but i cannot get this locally. i take it something like shell advance ultra be fine for this engine as it does not work hard anyway, and i can get it locally....better price too. i want to use good oil, but are some of the recommendations overkill? given it not a race bike.... cheers
October 8, 201213 yr Hi Sykes, try and get a motorcycle synthetic oil, as the car ones have slightly different friction modifiers which can make the clutch slip. Fuchs(silkoline), castrol, putoline and others all do motorcycle only synthetics.

June 12, 201313 yr Elf makes a real good oil... Is that a news paper heading chuck ! ,as i knew an elf who made some shoes once !
June 19, 201313 yr heard of some hard working Elvs that made cookies in a tree once, but some fairy princess came and messed it all up. then some bears came along...oh wait..never mind
June 19, 201313 yr Ha ha ha ha ha ha ! Wondered how long before you saw that Chuck . laughed my nut's off at the image of an Elf manufacturing some Excellent oil . Ted
June 24, 201313 yr What grade of 300V do they recommend? 300V is expensive high temperature racing oil. Quite a few 4 stroke motocrossers reckon its the bees knees, but that type of use is nowhere near the same as trials.
July 16, 201313 yr dont mix your MX oils and trials oils.. iv been using motorex in my new 4T..very happy with it..on the 3 oil change,. my dealer was out of Elf..so i tried the motorex... pricey..but good stuff.
