moocher22 Posted February 4, 2013 Share Posted February 4, 2013 How do I remove crankcase on a montesa 200 when main bearings are seized due to twenty standing that's if I'm stripping it right,engine split about half inch but bearings are seized and all rusty and I don't want any damage,help wanted. zerorev3rev4 Posted February 4, 2013 Share Posted February 4, 2013 have you removed kickstart idler gear ,,also maybe knock gear selector shaft through ,and undue the 3 screws on the selector drum and remove the cover ,also you could remove crank seals and get some wd40 in there ,close it back up and then try again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

feetupfun Posted February 5, 2013 Share Posted February 5, 2013 heat the outside of the case around the main bearing you want to come out of the casing. feetupfun Posted February 6, 2013 Share Posted February 6, 2013 I haven't pulled a Cota 200 apart so don't know the answer. Surely it is no big deal to work out what to do as the sides come apart and support the motor with the side down that you want the bits to stay in.
