I've still not got round to do any work on my poor scorpa. Disc floats still seized on, headstock bearings. God knows what else.

I do change the oil frequently though with ATF. The clutch is stuck on for about 5 mins but after it's warm and a few flicks it unlocks and works if not a little snatchy. To prevent this should I strap the clutch up when not in use?

I wouldn't,before you start it rock the bike back and forward in 5th gear with the clutch in.

Should free it.

Most bikes will do this when left for a long period, just the plates have dried out. Every time you run it get it warm and make sure it is free. Nothing to worry about unless it won't free off.

If its a Yamaha engined Scorpa it should probably use 20w50 or 10w40 not ATF.

Clutch fix pinned to the top of the Beta forum may help. They're all basically the same except for the GasGas clutch.

I run Maxima 75 wt lite transmission fluid in my 08, Yamaha engined SY250. I've never had the clutch stick, and there's no drag. In a lot of bikes, it makes a difference what type of ATF you are using. In my 02 Montesa 315R we've tried a lot of different fluids in the tranny is real particular. The one that works best is Valvoline Maxlife. It's a full synthetic in the red bottle. Clutch is like butter with the Maxlife.

I use Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF in my 03 SY250R and it solved all the problems of the clutch sticking.
