Hi John

Thanks for posting pics.

I really am stumped now,the frames straight, the engine lines up perfectly in brackets,

By the way the frame is the same as your new project,

Do you know if the round type barrel was fitted to bigger models?

could the engine have been rebuilt with a bigger barrel and piston?

Thanks Steve

Hi John

Sorry to trouble you again.

On your new frame is there a spacer in the front engine mounting bracket[right hand side looking from front to back of the bike]or are they flush like the other mountings.

On mine there is said spacer but dont know if its been added after for some reason,

If its been added after this could be whats stopping the engine moving into its correct position,

Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, had a look just now and there is no spacer, all flush fitting from engine mounts to frame mounts, I did wonder if some one has changed the barrel on your bike at some point.

If you take your spacer out would the engine move across enough to give you the room that you need to fit the collar? and would the rest of your mounts line up?

John.

Hi John

This is a pic of spacer.

someone must have welded a washer in at sometime, but no idea why.

everything looks straight,no kinks in frame or damage to bottom tubes or bash plate.

Looks like a job for the grinder and take it from there.

Ill start and post pics as restoration progresses.

Thanks for your help.

Steve

Rather than start a new thread i will just post up on this one with the rebuild projects, seen as all us cota 247 owners have a shared interest.

Here is the newly powder coated frame with yolks fitted and the new S3 pegs fitted, the pegs fitted with a little grinding to the original peg mounts and a little shaving of the alloy pegs.

Steve, i have the same washer but it is not as thick looking as your one looks, i would be more inclined to think that your barrel has been swapped out at some point.

Yes keep posting the rebuild pics, as you will have seen i have just started mine.
