December 4, 201411 yr ....mine came with a rubber pad between engine and bashplate (sumpguard) but I can't find one shown in the parts book? Thanks as always.....she's up 'n running just waiting on few parts to finish....been an easy strip 'n rebuild thus far thanks to help from this site and Mr SWM Martin.
December 4, 201411 yr Author B***er...that sumpgaurd is a real pain to fit even without the rubber pad! Many thanks for clearing that up...typical Italian documentation....some parts missing and too many parts in other places!
December 4, 201411 yr My tip, mount first loose the front, then place the rubber in between. Now place the bike on a bike stand and the weight will do the job.
December 5, 201411 yr Yes mine does too. While the bash plate is off either lockwire the kickstart spring? (Its been a while) retaining bolt or mark it in some way so you don't remove the wrong one when you are draining the oil.........In my defence I've only done it once and it does look like it should be the drain plug.

(Its been a while) retaining bolt or mark it in some way so you don't remove the wrong one when you are draining the oil.........In my defence I've only done it once and it does look like it should be the drain plug.there must be a story there regarding those bashplates and why the access hole only gives access to the wrong bolt......my guess is too much chianti for lunch before final drawings went out?!?My 'offical' US importers workshop manual says to remove the two plastic plugs on the clutch cover and lay bike on side to drain the gearbox oil!....as refitting the bashplate is too difficult even before they get damaged. I'll try and scan the page later....its a very well written 'real world use' manual I may try and scan it all as it maay help someone else.....good bit about rear sping rates
