December 6, 201411 yr How have people been stopping / reducing the amount of mud getting between the exhaust and the air box? Iv just filled it with black silicon for now. Not sure how to fix a mud flap without putting holes in the airbox which I don't particularly want to do!
December 6, 201411 yr I'm not familiar with the Sherco setup but mx foam is good for filling gaps and spaces that would otherwise be filled with mud.
December 6, 201411 yr Author It's not like filling the space up like between sump guard & engine, I need some kind of physical barrier to prevent it getting in! If you see a Sherco air filter / mud catcher after a winter trial you'd see what I mean.
December 6, 201411 yr If there is a gap between the exhaust & rubber strip on the airbox then something is bent. Do you have the small deflector fitted at the front of the airbox that stops stuff coming up from the front? I hot glued a section of screen door mesh onto the filter retainer to keep seeds etc out & it also works for lumps of dirt & mud
December 7, 201411 yr What year, before "10 there was a rubber that attaches to airbox in there to fill gap!
December 7, 201411 yr Author Right then. It appears I don't have the rubber bit or the mud flap at the front side!! Anyone got any pictures?
December 7, 201411 yr Author This was my solution Guess it will be fine til I need to remove the airbox or carb!
December 7, 201411 yr Have a look on the splatshop site at the airbox diagram, the bits won't be that expensive & getting the airbox off will be much easier
