My dad is trying to find a decent front sprocket to fit his TL125. I ordered one from wemoto and while cheap enough it has very shallow splines, the splines on the gearbox output shaft are a little worn so we don't want to make them worse. The original (worn) ones my dad has kept have deep splines but the last one we removed must have been one of the shallow splined ones, causing the wear.

Does anyone know of a source for original Honda sprockets or recommend a good aftermarket one? A 14 or 15t would be the preferred size.

Not contacted them no but the pictures I've seen seem to be the same as the others. I'd really like to know if I can get hold of a Honda one. I'm tempted to build up the splines with weld (on the sprocket) and grind square if I can't get hold of a decent one. I've done similar on a worn sleeve gear so I know it's possible, just takes ages!

For some reason the splines always seam to be very shallow, which seams syupid as deeper ones would help spread the load a bit.

Btc, you are a star. I'll have a look and order onone. Bit pricey but cheaper than a new gearbox output shaft!

I was wondering if one off a Cg125 might fit but hopefully should be sorted now.

Btc, using the part number you supplied I've just ordered a 15t Original Honda sprocket from David Silver Spares. Thanks again for your help.

Update:

The genuine Honda part was only slightly better than the aftermarket one. The diameter of the inner part of the splines is 18mm and the outer 20mm but the shaft in the un worn area is 16mm x 20mm. So you are only getting half the contact you should be.

In the end I searched on eBay and found a Yamaha sprocket for a YBR125 is a perfect fit with 16mm x 18mm splines and the right retaining plate hole centres. If you've got one of the ill fitting aftermarket ones I'd recommend you get a YBR sprocket to save your splines! (Not sure what sizes are available but I got a 15 and I know they do a 14)
