Beta Alp 4t -> Scorpa 4t

hello,

a question from a "newbie" from Italy...

I've got a Beta ALP 200 4T, I use it in medium range tours

on the mountains around my house (in tuscany).

Sometime I find too hard obstacles so I would like to change the ALP

with something closer to a trial bike...

Anyway, I still need to use it also on street transferts, for some kilometers

(it's easy to do it with the ALP 4T, which is not a real trial bike...)

Scorpa TY 125 or 175 has a seat, and it can be street legal,

is it a good choice for me?

I also considerd the new Montesa Cota (with the seat+bigger tank kit),

but it's a bit too expensive for me...

Salve Piruleiro I have a GasGas Pampera which is another option for you, they have just stopped makeing them so you might find one for a good price. They are a great trail bike based on the 250 TXT motor so it responds like a trials bike on technical trails, but maybe more comfortable than a trials bike for the road.Ciao

thanks very much for the replies.

I know, ALP 2T is a nice bike for the usage I like,

but it's rather difficult to find it.

Pampera is very good too, but it's too similar to the ALP 4T.

So, I decide to look for a new Scorpa TY 125 (or 175 if I'll get the extra money)...

as I said, I'll mostly use it on "pseudo-trial" mountain paths,

but I need to reach them after few kilometers of road,

so, just a...stupid question for trial forum:

what's the speed of the Scorpa on road? With my ALP 4T (mounting the Z12 sprocket),

I can ride at, more or less, 85 Km/h (actually 90, but vibrations are incredible)

I am sure Scorpa is much slower and, of course, I am ready to accept it,

but how much? and what about the support for the ID plate?

must I remove it every time I'll be off-road?

Last point, someone suggested me the new Yamaha tricker XG 250...

But I think it's too heavy (118 kg.) and, all in all,

it looks like a trendy bike with a trial look. am I right?

thank you for your attention, and sorry for my rather OT questions...

m.
