Because it breads consistancy and helps a company identify weak links. I ts hard enough to be unique in this world with out repeating mistakes. Its also easier to make money when you order in bulk. Two companies using the same powertrain.... Its a no brainer. If honda puts the same shift lever or oil pump on every bike montesa wins...
