Hi All,

 

Having searched the forums it seems I am not alone when it comes to cutting through your boot with the chain.

 

A few folks suggested an extended chain guard from trialscast.

 

I have tried looking them up and they dont seem to exist any longer.

 

Any other helpful hints and tips, before I go and buy new boots and do exactly the same.

I’ve cut a piece of plastic from an old oil bottle and zip-tied it to the swing arm

I used the corner piece from a square bottle about 4” long

Its been working well for 5 years  

 

I've done exactly the same with the corner of an oil bottle. It was just an experiment and then become a permanent fixture.

I do still have a trailscast one on the shelf and never used it.
