Vent Holes In Seat

can you just tape up the vent holes in the seat or are they requires for air intake? - i have fine mesh on them but it just gets clogged up with muck, figured i'd be just as well blocking them off and protecting the intake from crud a bit

OK, I'm a liar !!! Tape the holes in the seat and try it, Then you tell me and Mr. jrsunt if it works ,,,,,,,,D

We ran a dozen bikes this way for months on end with NO problems or lack of performance of any type.........

Have you considered carrying a clean (and oiled) filter in your tool bag? We've been riding in the mud all winter, with fine mesh over the holes in the seat and have not experienced any problems. Why impair the air intake of the best bike in the mud?
