I am looking at buying a 250cc trials bike and am considering a Sherco as we had a 125 for many years 

My budget stretches to a 4 or 5 year old bike I think

I realise that condition is the most important thing when buying so open to any year really.

I have no real info on Shercos from roughly 2010 to 2015, what were the differences and did they give much bother ? 

is there a year to aim for or avoid

 Actually those were mainly the bad years for Sherco due to the rear mounted fuel tank, fuel pump run by vacuum. Buy newer or consider a Beta.

a clean 08-09 will work fine if the others are out of range

I have been offered a 2012 Beta 300

its in excellent condition 

dont know much about them either but I'm getting the vib they are good
