Tank Sticker Peeling.

Featured Replies

Right then lads.

The tank sticker on my 05 pro has peeled up on the side.

I have glued it back down with superglue but it has just peeled up again.

Please could i have some ideas???

That has happened to mine next to the filler cap wher the petrol has got onto it. Clean the underside of the sticker and the tank with solvent cleaner(I used carb cleaner)then stick it down using the carpet glue that you can buy from b&q(the stuff that comes in a spray can, i think it is made by evostick.

It is about a fiver a can and mine has never come off again since I glued it about 6 months ago.

The glue might seem a little expensive just to put a sticker back on but it is the best thing I think to glue grips on with...It lubricates the grip so it slides on easy, and does not move once the glue has gone off. When you want to remove them you just slide a thin screwdriver between the grip and handlebar to break the seal and twist it off.

and once you have got it stuck down again get the wifes clear nail varnish and go round the edges of the stickers, if done from new the tank sticker will never peel up.

hope this helps!!! :(
