1974 TY250 Damper rod seized

Hi all

trying to change seals on front forks but when turning bottom a hex bolt, damper rod 

is turning as well, looking down the fork top of rod doesn’t appear to have any way of

stopping it turning I:e hex key etc, Any ideas

If there are drain plugs on the side near the bottom of the legs try using a longer bolt than the drain screw in and it with touch the bit that is turning. Nip it up but not too tight and you may be in luck

Put the forks back together, springs, caps etc. Compress the forks slightly and loosen the damper rod bolt.

Sorted b40 and majesty done it with a impact screwdriver, didn't try your idea petert Thanks for reply's

Lucky you didn't try petert's idea as you'd probably only be pushing on the bottoming cone & not the damper rod that sits inside it
