January 29, 200620 yr TLM is 2 stroke and less desirable and TLR is 4 stroke, which to some people is more desirable............hence the price differential
January 29, 200620 yr As John says TLM = two stroke, TLR = 4 stroke. The other big difference is that all TLR's (TLR250G trail bike excepted) are twinshock while some of the 2 stroke TLM's are monoshock - TLM260 for example. There are monoshock converted TLR's eg Gollner Honda but these were not produced by Honda. January 30, 200620 yr Author Thanks for the explanation guys. After a break of26 years I decided to buy myself another trials bike. I rather foolishly jumped in at the deep end and bought a 300 raga rep. Being nearer 50 than 40 I find it tiring to ride (no seat). So I am looking for something more appropriate perhaps a twinshock. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Stan.

January 30, 200620 yr Most people who havn't riden either the tlm or tlr still consider the tlr to be the better bike i have a tlm and apart from the weight it is nearly a modern bike by comparison with disc front and mono shock. lets face it its a HONDA so it must be good.
February 1, 200620 yr hi,i had a tlm200 after a tlr250 and a tlr200 befoue that. still got the tlr250 20yrs on. would love a rtl.
