4 Ride starting issue

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I had a strange thing happen to my 4 ride  (67reg) yesterday. I was just checking it over pre mot & It started 2nd kick like normal so I tested the horn & it cut out & won’t start now ! That’s never happened in the 3 yrs I’ve had it .  Thinking it could be the kill switch so I disconnected it but still the same. I checked it for continuity which also seems fine. I can’t work out why the use of the horn has killed it unless there’s a short  somewhere perhaps. I have ordered a new plug but don’t think  it’s that.

Any of you guys & girls out there got any ideas cos I’m baffled, with thanks ,Andy

Have you tried disconnecting the horn via the two lucar connectors on the horn and tryng to start the bike again ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I did try that but no different.

I took off the coil pack earlier & where the wires earth to the frame & cleaned the connection & to my surprise she fired up so it looks like a sensitive connection. Why the horn seemed to cause it is a mystery but that’s electrics for you .

Thanks for your help anyway 👍👍
