  1. Good tip , thanks
  2. Thanks very much for your help & knowledge. That’s a great idea with the compression test 👍. Yes, they are certainly a great engine . I look after it religiously with plenty of oil changes etc & it’s really faultless. I’ve recently got rid of the ***** front pipe & put a Titanium Mitani on & it’s transformed it with more bottom end & sounds better too . Cheers
  3. Thanks Lemur. That sounds probably too tricky for me to tackle. Are there any manuals about that I could study ? There’s no symptoms at the moment regarding starting cos she fires up very easily. it’s just that I can hear a slight ticking when she’s cold or warm, doesn’t make a difference. Perhaps I’m being over sensitive with it . I could do with hearing an another bike to compare it . Thanks for your input
  4. Hi all, I have a 67 reg 4 ride which has 2600 miles on & was wondering if you guys & girls had any knowledge of adjusting the valve clearances cos it sounds like it might need a small tweak here & there. I think I’m at the sort of mileage now where it needs it . I hope the job is not too far out of my ability though ! Thanks in advance
  5. Oh that’s a shame, thanks for the info anyway. I’ll just have to look for something else, cheers
  6. Hi all, I’m after a Scalvini exhaust for a 4 ride as I’m bored of the standard pipe. Would anyone know where is the best place to order from ? Thanks in advance , Andy
  7. Thanks Luc, I’m looking forward to changing mine now you’ve said that. Always nice to have more power 👍
  8. Just been reading all of your posts & anybody recommend any favourite front pipes ? Also by removing the o2 wire does that affect emissions on the mot ? Thanks
  9. Hi Luc, just interested in how you’re getting on with your new pipe cos I want to get rid of my standard pipe & 02 sensor. Mine is a 67 reg & was wondering how would removing the o2 sensor affect the emissions for the mot
  10. Thanks for the info lemur, I know what you mean , I’ll be keeping a close eye on it from now on. The hardest thing about that front Caliper is getting the spring in afterwards, I find it to be a right pig but fortunately I am patient lol
  11. Thanks for your reply. Yes I did try that but no different. I took off the coil pack earlier & where the wires earth to the frame & cleaned the connection & to my surprise she fired up so it looks like a sensitive connection. Why the horn seemed to cause it is a mystery but that’s electrics for you . Thanks for your help anyway 👍👍
  12. Hi all. I had a strange thing happen to my 4 ride (67reg) yesterday. I was just checking it over pre mot & It started 2nd kick like normal so I tested the horn & it cut out & won’t start now ! That’s never happened in the 3 yrs I’ve had it . Thinking it could be the kill switch so I disconnected it but still the same. I checked it for continuity which also seems fine. I can’t work out why the use of the horn has killed it unless there’s a short somewhere perhaps. I have ordered a new plug but don’t think it’s that. Any of you guys & girls out there got any ideas cos I’m baffled, with thanks ,Andy
  13. I think I ought to have a look at the rear too just for peace of mind
  14. Cheers Jonny & Turbo. I took a ride over to the Wye Valley on Sun & it behaved perfectly but like you say I’ll strip it down again soon & give it another lube before it gets seized up again
