315r Kill Switch

Featured Replies

My 315R will not turn off if the engine is revving at high rpm with the kill switch. It works OK at lower rpms. Any ideas? Thanks.

Clean your carb slide!!

I take it that the throttle is sticking. I had the same problem with one of mine, and used to put my gloved hand over the silencer outlet, until it stopped. Not ideal, but it worked.. Also check the cable routing from the carb, to prevent it happening in future!!

thats what happened to my mate but his exhaust dont join properly so we switched the fuel off

To get the kill switch to work he got a new one and cleaned all terminals with contact cleaner and it works fine

Try a better ground on your kill switch. like the yamaha style two wire kill switch and ground to the same location as the other grounds.

BEFORE I LEARNED TO REFIT THE PETROL TANK PROPERLY ?

THE ENGINE WOULD REV TO THE POINT OF BLOWING UP :P

NEW KILL SWITCH AND A SOLDERING IRON CURED THE KILL SWITCH :D

If the kill switch is completing the circuit it should kill at any rpm. Take the button off the bar, and test it with a continuity tester by touching the tester probes to the two wires under the button. When the button is pushed there should be continuity.

Another test you can do while it's off the bars is to short across the two wires with needle nose pliers. When the wires are connected/shorted the engine should die. You might also try spraying some contact cleaner in the bottom of the button to remove any corrosion that may have accumulated.

My kill button stopped working because the wires had been pinched and broken.
