guy53
What is a good alternative to a TY 175 fork, I know many replace them with TY 250 fork but since there so few of them avalable maybe there is an alternative that does not require me to sell my home to buy Guy
lemur
Triple trees limit your options to run larger stanchion tubes, the stock steering head bearing is the weak part. Steering head bearing upgrade to taper bearing is relatively inexpensive and gives you the most bang for your buck. ... if you could devise a way to run a fatter axle and larger bearings that would go a long way to stiffening the front end, it's not hard to twist TY175 forks. Super important to replace the stock wheel bearings frequently to maintain suspension and brake performance. Edited April 3 by lemur
mcman56
With light oil and teflon coated bushes in the lower legs, I find the stock TY175 forks to work pretty well.

If only classic TY had teflon coated bushings in the lower legs to replace, but sadly they do not.
mcman56
The lower legs can be modified to accept standard size bushings.
