  1. Have the same bike, had trouble starting it but now I have no problems. Put it in 2nd gear, rock it backwards without the clutch until it won’t go back any more pull in the clutch and kick it. No choke required hot or cold. Starts 1st kick for me 95% of the time. If it doesn’t catch 1st time repeat the rolling back procedure. fyi I am 63 with a very bad right knee, previous trials bike was a beta that had a left kicker and wanted another one but couldn’t pass up on the gasser because the price.
  2. I use the beta long-range seat/tank on my 2008 Rev3 and ride it in some of the tight enduro events we have on Vancouver Island. I'm out of shape, way to heavy and am faster on the Beta than my KTM200SX on the trails around here. It adds 4l additional fuel, I've also added a 1l hebo tank for about 8l total. The seat is comfy but very low so not great for extended periods. The fuel flows into the original fuel line with a 'T' connector so you have to use both fuel petcocks. Here is a picture of the connection - http://charchuk.com/BetaTank/files/page0-1001-full.html Here is a picture after an event last fall http://ebizviewer.com/SANY0004.JPG
  3. The torque settings are in this thread http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....showtopic=28936
  4. I'm just curious... Does any one know what the Modification Kit for the Rev2t does? According to the Beta Website it includes a cylinder, head and piston. Part number is 2008408 000 to 20088408 500 (depending on model year).
  5. I used the oem mudflap as a template and cut one out of an old supermoto tube. Been working great for two years (replaced it twice).
  6. I put a universal one on my 08Rev3 after I broke the original. It is the correct colour red but other than that it is quite ugly. I originally liked the ugly mudguard because it was so flexible. Now I pretty much hate it as while it is flexible and probably won't break, hopping over ditches at speed causes the fender to contact the tire and spray muck in my face, something the OEM one didn't do.
  7. Ahh... Got it, I didn't bother to look at the picture just thought they were all the same, sorry about that.
  8. I just used longer bolts and added an extra nut as a spacer, works great.
  9. By free trade I mean no tariffs/duty on imports into the UK for products manufactured in the european community (like Italy). We have it in North America so anything built in the USA or Mexico can come into Canada without extra tariffs but products produced else where in the world may be subject to tariffs(at least that is how I understand it).
  10. I purchased it over a year ago and think it was 500-600 $CDN. I can't really remember the exact cost but it's not cheap. The UK is closer to Italy than Canada so the I imagine shipping costs are lower. Do you have free trade in the European community?
  11. I've had the beta long range tank/seat combo for over a year. The upper tank gives me an additional 3-4 hrs (4l) and the bottom tank gives me 2-3 hrs(3l) so 5-7 hrs of riding depending on how much I crank my right wrist. The seat is low but it is pretty comfy and a good place to rest on the more open tracks. I'm short 5'8" with a 28-29" inseam. You have to remove the tank to service the air cleaner (5 extra minutes) and takes me about 30 minutes to remove the tank completely as there is some messing around with the fuel line and rear mudguard. The bolts/screws on the side bother me a bit as I like to grip the bike with my legs, probably not something you are supposed to do with a trials bike but it's a habit I have from my big bike. Since I use the beta for a trail bike and not a trials bike it is a perfect solution for me.
  12. I have a hebo full face carbon that is lighter than my trials nzi tri-vent so if you want the extra protection you might consider it. I thought the tri-vent helmet would be good because of the the large vent holes and while it is cool it doesn't have a removable liner and as stated in the previous post the hardware corrodes like you wouldn't believe. I'm looking at replacing the nzi as I like to use an open face helmet on really hot days and for cutting trails. I would use the hebo full face all the time but on hot days it doesn't vent very well and I sweat a great deal. When I take it off water literally pores off of my head. One other thing, I'm not sure where helmets are made these days but I was surprised to see that my Hebo was made in China when I thought it was supposed to be made in Spain. I bought it a few years ago and have had no quality issues with it at all (unlike the nzi).
  13. Canadian importer provided the inner case no charge and the dealer gave me the bearings and seal at cost. Put it all together yesterday and did a 68K ride today in fantastic weather. Now running motul motocool organic which is supposed to minimize corrosion. I'm happy again. FYI, the new case I got was identical to the old one (magnesium). Same part no. I noticed the 2009-10 models have a different part no., maybe that is the aluminum one.
  14. Thanks for the info. Should I be replacing all of the seals and bearings at the same time as the case or can they be popped out easily enough?
  15. Out for a long ride today and the water pump started leaking. I took it apart and this is what is there - http://www.ebizviewer.com/2008BetaRev3.jpg . Can it be saved or should I be getting a new internal clutch cover? It looks like the corrosion has prevented the o-ring to be held in place. I think the part no is 12-62663-0-67.
