What would be the correct tyre pressures on my TY250 for general practise and messing about? If they are too low will it split the side walls of the tyres? Have tried to get a workshop manual for my bike but am struggling, tried loads of places but am surprised how hard it has been to track one down for such a popular bike, any ideas? Can anyone reccommend the best 2 stroke oil to keep things running sweetly and also which gearbox oil? Should the joint where silencer meets exhaust be sealed with exhaust paste, currently mine is just pushed on and is a fairly loose fit. I seem to be asking a lot of questions on this forum but am new to trials and keen to learn about my…

Can anyone suggest easiest way to paint frame of my TY250 without stripping it down completely? Got to remove the old non standard green colour before I can repaint in white so if anyone has used a good paint removal product they could reccommend then that would be a big help, I am doing the front forks too. Attached is a picture of the bike Cheers

The TY250 pinky I have just bought has a few problems I need to sort out and it's my first trials bike so any help from you people in the know would be appreciated. The silencer has a hole in it caused by the back tyre rubbing against it, is this a common problem? I have bent the bracket on the silencer out so it clears but it still seems to be very close. Would a welded plate over the hole do the job or is a new silencer a better option? The rear wheel also looks buckled but looks to be the tyre more than the wheel itself as the rim seems ok when the wheel is spinning but the tyre seems to have a lump in it at one point, any ideas? Perhaps it is an optical illusion! I…

Hi, I recently bought a 1990 TY250 pinky which I am doing up before the summer comes and I can get out on it. The frame is quite a bright green colour, does anyone know the colour name, reference and / or where to buy it? Not sure if it would be an original colour but it does appear to be? Got some great tips from the forum and only been a member 2 days, thanks

Hi, can somebody advise me as to which piston is used to convert TY175 to 200. And is worthwhile. Is it just a rebore and nothing major like machining piston or whatever. Thanks.

Boggles the mind.... how many old trials bikes are sitting around in garages like this waiting to be un-earthed? Thought I was lucky when I found my kt with 1000 miles on from new.

A recent post in this forum mentioned that John Shirt had success with improving the fork action on TY250 twinshock forks by using smaller oil holes in the damper rods. My TY250B and TY175B both have TY250 twinshock front ends fitted with B&J Racing springs but otherwise are standard. The B&J springs made a great improvement in the fork action of both bikes but they still don't seem to be as good as well set up Spanish bike forks of the same era. I weigh 88kg and use 5WT in the 175 and 10 WT in the 250. Oil level in both bikes is 125mm from the top when bottomed. Does anyone know the size and location of the holes that worked well for John Shirt?

I'm planning a rebuild on my fathers 200 Majesty. We've owned it since '84, but after my father died in 86 I've only had it running once, that was 10 years ago. Cosmetically it still looks good and original. However, I'd like to freshen up the engine a bit with a full rebuild, replacing all the seals, bearings and gaskets. I guess the bottom end is still TY175, but where would I find spares for the top end, such as piston, rings, gudgeon pin, head gasket etc ? Any help and guidance gratefully received... Regards Paul

TY 80, the bike starts and runs but when put in gear you have to rev it up and push off while releasing the clutch to get rolling, once its in the power band, runs great. Is this the way the TY80'S run? The topend sounds tight. I would like it to run slow and zippy while in 1st gear, any Ideas? sam

I have two TY175s, I might be interested in building a Majesty 200 clone? Did John bore out and resleeve a 175 or what? Are pistons available? Are Majesty 200 gas tanks available? The pictures of Majestys have been a great help! I still can't get to the Majesty web site.
