Hi, I'v had what I think is a Majesty for around 3 years now, and its been "used"! Unfortunately my younger brother, who owns half the bike, has dropped it a couple of times in the most unfortunate places There's some damage on the tank. I have repaired this damage before, and can do again if nessesary (spelling???) Basically I would like to know from some of the Majesty Experts here wether my bike is actually a Majesty. I think it's a 175 cc engine but not sure! If it is a Majesty I also want to know : What it's worth in its current "rough" condition? and is it worth restoring to former glory???...as this would cost quite a lot from what I have gathered! (thank g…

I recently bought a cracking TYZ 250 and there is one thing that is intriguing me. It has got the number "18" stamped into the top of the headstock, just in front of the radiator cap. Does anyone know what it signifies, if anything?

I received some images from a fella named "Ian Brown" (if you're on this forum Ian Hello!) My dad bought some manuals from him a year ago or so for his Honda Sealey. Crazy co-incidence is that our family and him have both a TY Majesty and a Honda Sealey, two relatively rare motorcycles especially the Sealeys. Anyway I thought some of his images from his restoration may be helpful to some on here! So I'v uploaded a couple of them to show the bike! *uploading new images* I think you'd agree this bike is "minted"! If you would like any more of specific places on the bike I might have then please PM me as he sent me lots of images on a CD!

Hello all I'm in the process of restoring a TY pinky, so after a quick holiday up at Birks last week to sort out the engine it is ready for some cosmetic treatment. Does anyone know if you can get the original blue fork paint (maybe a Yamaha part ref? and dealer?). Also I haven't tried to put all the stickers etc on the new mudguard and existing seat (which is in good nik) but I wondered if it was worth considering a coat of lacquer eg the spray one they sell at Halfords - maybe this could help make it look more shiny and either stop the stickers coming off or stop them fading? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts please? Cheers

  10. Hi Just spent the last 12 months restoring a TY175 nearly finished. Bike starts but wont rev cleanly and bangs and pops. Any ideas - i think its probably points / condenser - but electics is the only aspect of the bike I know nothing about. Can anyone give an idiots guide to replacing condenser and points and setting up correctly. Bike has has a nut and bolt rebuild including .25 rebore. It will start but seems to have an intermittent spark - hence the popping. Any one local to Skegness or Boston in Lincs who could help? - I can bring the bike to you - would be much appreciated. Thanks

Does the DT250 fuel tap fit the TY fuel tank? Is A$52.00 too much to pay for a complete fuel tap?(from Yamaha) I had a leak from the 'diamond' shaped rubber gasket behind the tap. I have cleaned it all out, but I'd like to buy a new one if possible.

I am getting my newly acquired TY 350 up to speed and have an issue with the fork mounted speedo. I checked the owners/service manual and there's no real information about the sppedo listed in it. 1st the speedo itelf works... I disconeceted the cable from the wheel fitting and turned the cable with a drill and it functions fine. 2nd when I spin the front wheel with the cable attached the cable doesn't move, so I guess the cable drive in the front wheel isn't working. Anybody know of a fix, or how to get to the part? Anybody know where to find the part? Thanks in advance Mike

Has any one re-covered a ty250 seat. I need to know if the foam has a base inside the vinyl cover to to support it. The factory parts drawing shows the padded piece as a stand alone part that bolts to the fibreglass seat fairing. Mine is not original and it feels like someone has used a piece of plywood inside.

Ok I've got the manual, not much help, I need to remove the front wheel on my newly acquired TY 350 to attempt to get the speedo working. Released the pinch bolt but nothing moves and I don't have the "special tool" as stated in the manual. Can someone describe the special tool to me? Is it still available? any alternatives? The bike's stored about 70 miles from me so be kind. I tried to det the axel off yesterday and no luck. I'll be going up again Saturday and would like to solve this problem. Thanks in advance Mike

  19. Started by nick collier,

Hi gang. I recently had a tankful of dodgy fuel. While out practising, the Ty just stalled while idling, and refused to start again. unfortunately, this is when I started to mess about with the mixture screws!! I have since cleaned out the tank and carb, but cannot get the bugger to start. I assume I have screwed (!!!) up the mixture. Does anyone know a good starting point to set the 2 screws at to help me kick her over?? Cheers, Nick
