Hi just drained the oil on my 14 beta evo I've noticed some of the oil caught the bash gaurd & has gone over the engine casing between the bash gaurd & engine. Now do I let my ocd get the better of me & take the bash gaurd off to clean up the oil or do I just put the drain bolt back in clean up what I can & bite my lip & refill with oil & go riding. Heard some bad stories about bash gaurds being a mare to fit.

Hi all. New to this site and a bit of a techno dummy so lets hope I can use the site okay. So I have an issue with my Suzuki Beamish RL. I have been advised the Beamish was made in two models. The RL250 and the RL325. Problem being my Suzuki Beamish has a period decal either side that looks original, that states it's an RL350. So, does anyone know if the beamish was made as a 350 please.

Hi there been practicing static balancing in my garage. Some days are good others just can't get the tech right. I struggle to get up on pegs bike tips over. If I lean bike against something I can get the balance right. I also find I lean the bike over a little when I have bars turned to get the bike balancing but when bike starts to go over further I can't get it back up to balance even by sticking my leg out. Any tips woukd be appreciated.

Not wanting to revisit the much talked about issue of Fantic frames with cracks / movement at the steering head, as that as been covered many times previously. The lower frame tubes under the engine are also prone to bending and in some cases flattening slightly against the underside of the engine cases - see attached images. The two images are of two different bike circa 1984. Both have been hit from underneath, and then hammered from above to allow access to remove the casing. I believe most Fantics were fitted with a plastic sump guard originally. Looking at images of refurbished bikes, none of them have this issue, and the engine cases are well clear of…

This guy claims he promotes the sport and won't even broadcast his mega indoor event that has been on the makes for months! Probably gonna hurt a lot of feeling here but that's just fine! As a trials fan, I feel sad that one of the biggest names in our sport, does so little to promote the sport that gave him everything he has! No excuses, we live in a digital world of facebook live, tiktok and etc... If the dude that has all sorts of connections can't figure out how to hire a company to live cast a small motorcycle event, He is either super incompetent or he is only in for his personal gain! I said it once and will say again: He is as phony as his wheelie record!! R…

This maybe a stupid question, but how do you tell the difference between a 125/250 by looking at it? a gas gas txt pro for example with no stickers. Is there any obvious differences?

Hey guys! So, just picked up a 300 txt trials gasgas. Was hoping for a 250 but got a good deal on this 300. So far I love it. for the last 3 days, been working on static balancing so I can start progressing into front hops Today, I just went trail riding on what some would call "hard enduro" pretty much all rocks. Really trying to get the feel of riding on rocks and also practicing slow moving over the rocks without putting a foot down. Very hard to do ha. I would essentially ride my 2 stroke down it, but sitting down with a leg out, trials is forcing me to stand so very different feeling. Eventually I would like to navigate the same trail, stop static balance, cont…

Mr Admin Do you think it's time to add Mecatecno to the Bike Specific Forums. Production should have started (I don't know if it has) and a little birdie told me they will be available in the UK from Spring 2023. Surely they are more relevant than Xispa, which is something I have never seen.

As an unashamed newbie, I am balking at the cost of a pair of decent trials boots. Seem to be around £200+ I am a life long victim of buy cheap buy twice, and know that quality costs, but delivers. But still can't resist a bargain.. And that leads me to boots. I am a newbie, and have MX jeans, upper body armour and a helmet, but my boots are a road pair that might provide some abrasion protection against sliding on tarmac, but little else. There seems to be a choice of MX or enduro boots at £100 ish, and also 'Adventure Road biased' boots for around £100, but little in the way of budget Trials boots. My mate says a pair of wellies is all you need. …

I’m looking a buying a classic trials bike of some description. Unfortunately, when it comes to motorbikes, I love everything! I’ve been riding trials for about a year on modern bikes and have become fairly addicted so I’m flogging my classic Harley as it now languishes in the corner and want to sample some classic trials bikes. So I’m just wondering if there are any particular brands or bikes out there to avoid due to inherent or unfixable issues, I guess I’ll be looking at SWM’s, Fantics, TY’s and the like from the early 80’s. Love the style of SWM’s but know nothing about them otherwise. No idea what the difference is between front kick and rear kick Fantics (200 …

Hi all help need please, I am looking to take my 1979 sherpa 350 on long distance trials next year. 80 to 100 miles in a day. I would really like to do something about the seat as I don't think my bum will take it. Anyone changed their seat for something with more padding than the standard seat. Any ideas will greatly be received by my bottom. Thanks.
