First, some back story- are you sitting comfortably? Nov '20 I try my first trials bike, a 1971 Bultaco Sherpa 250. It feels really natural, tractable and I decide to get my own bike. Lockdown happens (again) so I don't really start riding until April, but I get a 2001 Gasgas TXT. Love it, but it's tired & needs TLC, so I go newer. Next up is a '13 Sherco ST300. It has a few mechanical niggles but when it works, it's good. I ride through the summer and autumn of this year. But now it's winter and OMG this is a different game. Hi All The petrol tank on my Gasgas gp 280 has expanded to the point we’re it is almost impossible to get it in. I was wondering if the 2012 aluminium tank would fit ,it looks to be the same apart from it being a little higher We’re the fuel cap sits. Has anyone tried this modification, I don’t really want to go spending on another plastic tank for it to do the same Any information would be much appreciated Cheers

First, I apologize if this has been answered. I'm trying to track down a over the counter API GL-4 gear oil for my 21' TXT300. My options are pretty limited to auto parts stores as I've already been to the local dealership. With KTM overseeing the production of GasGas, they only list the motorex brand gear oil in the manual. Nothing against motorex but between the cost of the oil, taxes, shipping, It's almost $40 for a quart of oil. Would this work? Hello, I’m new to the forum and don’t even have a bike yet. I need some veteran help from you guys in regard to finding the right set up. I live in Bend, OR and have access to public land from my house with a few hundred of miles of single track, open clear cuts with boulders and small canyons with plenty of obstacles to make you go - damn i need a trials bike. I ride a 05 KTM 400 exc and absolutely love it. There’s no question trials riding helps immensely with your performance on a dirt bike and that’s partially the reason I’m attracted to trials. Hi, recently purchased a beta evo 4t 2010. Went out on it once and really enjoyed riding it. however before going out a second time, decided to check the fuel and noticed a strange build up of sort of white sludge, at the top of the fuel tank….very strange! I have a 2011 2t evo (so similar age) and the inside of the tank is like brand new… anyone got any idea what this stuff is? Crystallised petrol from being stood maybe? And then, how do I get rid of it?!? not idea on a beta given the tank is build into the frame…!!

So I’m just throwing this up for discussion really… Those who have read my previous posts will know I’m new to the sport. After research and deliberation I opted for a Beta Rev 3 250, I tried finding a 200 but had no luck there. Initially I fancied a twin shock, poss an old TY175 or Fantic 200 but the consensus was that something modern would be easier to learn on. Most road bikes I’ve had have been 4 stroke, I’m a Harley lover and have had 5 over the years and as far as two strokes go I’m a fan of old Lambrettas of which I own one (1961 vintage with tuned motor). Curious of the approximate mpg/ride time you guys get out of your 250-300cc trials bikes? I know it's a YMMV question but I'm just looking for some personal experience. I picked up a couple MSR 30oz fuel bottles to take on 10-15mi single track loops as most have recommended. Just trying to gauge if I should take both fuel bottles, maybe invest in a gorilla bag for fuel? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Jitsie are advertising big news coming on the 1/12/2021 I wonder if they’re going to unveil their own trials machine? I always wondered why no one bought all the tooling for the ossa bikes when they folded with gas gas ,they’d still be a good machine now with abit of an update .especially when the likes jotagas can still keep going

Can anyone tell me what the layout is like at Seymour’s Arena? North Berks have a practice day this Sunday and I’m debating going but I’m a novice so don’t want to be climbing big rocks etc like I’ve seen in the photos of the place. Wondering if they have stuff there that’s beginner friendly? TIA

hello, im making some of those webbing strap things for pulling bikes out of sections, as i can see myself doing a fair bit of this haha. Anyway ive got the webbing, and im pretty sure its just a case of heating up an old screwdriver and melting a hole through for the bolts to go through and attach at back mudguard, but....im a bit concerned that it wont last very long and ive seen some with what looks like a penny washer, that actiually goes through the webbing, to prevent the hole from elongating etc. Any idea what these are called, so that i can buy some? only pic i could find, and yes i know its crap, but its the fixing points at the back muddy i…

Hi all, Have scoured the WWW's for some time looking for the information I'm after to no avail. I currently own a 2021 GG TXT Racing 250, and a 2018 TRS One 125 (my partners). I bought the TRS second hand sight unseen and had to rebuild everything - to the point of new linkages and bearings, and fork stanchions and bushes, wheel bearings, MC's, calipers and piston and rings. I did the rear end and wheel bearings and a few other jobs myself. After building and installing the TRS linkages and swing arm, I found it imensely easier to work on and quicker, than my GG (and previous 2014 GG) , which I just stripped and lubed the swing arm bearings and linkages…

Hi, looking for some direction. I’ve lost touch a bit with the trials scene and there’s been a few new manufacturers over the last few years, TRS and vertigo. I seem to ride better with lighter weight bikes, with smooth controllable power. I’m just a novice rider, don’t need stacks of power. I’m fancying changing my beta evo 250, I love it, especially how smooth and controllable the power is, but for no other reason than I fancy a change. Am I right in saying the trs is the lightest bike on the market? I saw some conflicting info on the internet? I hear the 300 betas and trs are generally softer power delivery than the 250? Hi -- Looking for some seasoned advice. I'm brand new to trials, not new to bikes. I've been street riding for 20 yrs - big track/ supermoto/ canyon carving. I scooped up a 2014 GG 300 txt 2 months ago. Price/ location/ and very low hours checked the box and it was a done deal. Great bike, great condition. I bought it without ever riding one. So today I did my second ever trial. My first trial was about a month ago in Standlake Woods near Oxford, hosted by North Berks MCC. I entered the lowest group I could and amazed myself by managing to complete all four rounds of ten sections on the novice route with an overall score of about 34 or 35. I was extremely chuffed with this and despite splitting my front mudguard went home full of confidence and looking forward to the next one. Today was my second trial at Beckley, Oxford Ixion MCC.
