I know it's been asked before but, I had a look on BVM's website and there's a big difference in the cost of a rear tyre: Michelin

What is the difference between trials gloves and motocross gloves? I'd imagine they are lighter and provide better feel. My current gloves are MSR World Tour and are really nice but the seams cause big blisters and callises on my hands. What are some good trials gloves? Thanks!!

I just purchased a new Dunlop D803GP tire (120/100R18) to replace a D803 (4.00R18). I expected a low profile tire but what I got seems to be a higher profile tire than the 4.00R18. It appears narrower and the loaded rolling circumference at 5psi is greater than the 4.00R18 at 10psi. The tire is made in Japan by Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. So I'm now concerned that it may not have better traction. Anyone have some experience with this tire?

Got a beta evo with Michelin comp tyres few years old but not hammered by any means ,,thinking of changing what are people's recommendations ,cheers

So for guys that ride a LOT... like 100+ hours a season; how often are you replacing the bike, either with something new or newer? I realize this is a little more complicated that just the bike, as there's budget to consider. But I'm still curious... It's probably worth noting that I ride at an intermediate level. Which is to say there's a fair amount of crashing and banging into immovable objects involved. Obviously if you're riding at a level where this isn't the case, the bike's bound to last longer.

Hi guys I hope I'm posting in the right forum here. Having ridden mountain bike trials for over 12 years I've just got my first moto trials bike - 2012 Gas Gas TXT 280 Pro Racing. Absolutely loving it so far - real challenge but so much fun. My question is regarding the rear brake. I'm used to hydraulic rim brakes with a grind on my mtb trials bike which are insanely powerful and then hydraulic discs on my downhill bike which are equally powerful but obviously not as grabby. The front brake on my Gas Gas is really sweet, I can easily stoppie or lock up for nice endos etc really happy with it. However the back brake compared to what I'm used to is pretty weak. If I r…

Someone has just commented that they see people with too much air pressure in their tyres. Is it possible to have too little pressure? I worry about damaged rims if I run too low. I weigh nearer to 70kg than 80kg, ride a 4RT and run about 4psi on the rear. Sometimes I struggle with grip and think I should try lower pressure. But then I run onto rocks and think that would be a bad idea. What is your opinion?

Hi there Is it possible to do Enduro events or even hare and hounds on a trials bike ?? Is it allowed and can it be done ?? Would the miles kill the bike ?? I have recently bought an enduro and a trials bike and enjoy the long distance runs but just LOVE my trials bike. I realise that i wont be quick enough to compete but i really fancy it none the less I have a Beta 200 rev 3 and a Yamaha WR 250 2 stroke...............but quite frankly if its not possible on my wee Beta i would sell my enduro and trials bike if it could be done on a 4 stroke trials bike or..................??? any suggestions ?? Hi all, I was on this a while ago asking for general info on the 1993 Aprilia 280R Climber (purple tank, yellow radiator shrouds). Now I'll be more specific. Looking at the forks, theres a couple of screws on the top and I was wondering what sort of adjustment was available on these forks and which adjuster is which? Theres also an adjuster on the left hand fork but not on the right. Which is which? Also, same question for the shock.........

Hi folks, I know this is an extremely debatable subject. (Do you ride mud, rocks, for pleasure or to win, etc) I'm just trying to get a feel for how long people keep a tyre going and whether sharp edges are the be all and end all. I have a rear on a 4RT with about 40 to 50 hours of grass slopes and rock sections, practising front wheel lifts and upto 2 foot steps, mainly. The front edges are quite well rounded now. But I still find grip doing tight turns on steep wet grass. I struggle finding grip in mud, but that is probably lack of practise and technique. How often do you change your rears? Do you ever "turn them round" to use the rear edges of the b…

Has anyone used or seen this tire? They are available in the states now. I wondering if it is a suitable replacement for the discontinued Michelin tube type 4.00x18. It might be a good tire for vintage bikes.

Can you all help me with a bit of advice in choosing my next bike? I've had a Rev3 250 which I probably rode less than 10 times as I spent most of my limited knowledge and time repairing it. However I did like it (nothing to compare it against though) and once I got it running right I sold it quick. Sitting in the garage soldering some wires together I thought to my self "I wonder if this would melt plastic" So I got an old sherco mudguard and cut the back bit off, I got the soldering iron and started to "fuse" both sides together, I did both sides and it seems like a good fix and seems quite strong. so if you snap your mudguard keep the bits, this way means you can have a few (slightly ugly) but working spares.
