Hi All. I've just done a deal on ebay for what I understood was a 1980 Yamaha DT125 Trials bike. After picking up the bike and a bit of investigation it turns out to be a DT175 engine in a hand made frame possibly WES Powys? There are some trick aluminium parts, air filter and exhaust expansion box and fuel tank. Marchoni forks Engine starts easily so I'm happy I've got a good deal. I'm trying to identify the frame builder. Anyone know anything about it? Any info would be useful. Thanks Peter

Been riding for around 20 years but gave up road riding when the kids were born, now mostly potter about the local green lanes on my enduro bike and get out on the trials bike when i can Have just bought a Sherco Ty125 as i wanted something super quiet to ride in the back garden and i liked the ability to fit a seat and use the bike for some more technical green lane stuff as well as trials. Helloo, I've just bough a Gasgas 125 (2024) off ebay and I cant get the thing to start. During purchase it wouldn't start either but im confident that, in a few months, with your help, it'll fire up!! Here is what I know: bike looks good, its got a carburettor and a spark plug. compression seems fine. There is fuel in the tank. It's been left for a while unused. Ill try to add some pics - Please could any one give me some simple tips. Somewhere to start in terms of getting this thing started. So far I have mainly tried: full choke. half/full throttle, kicking the hell oot of it till I'm knackered.

Hi, My name is Kutang. Motocycle is my passion in any form. I love reparing bike and riding them. I like to verify and conform my thoughts. See you in my new topic about Beta Evo 300.

  12. After 43 years of no trials bike, I did it - I bought a new-to-me '23 GasGas 300 TXT. In my earlier days I had a Yamaha TY250 then a couple of Sherpa T's (250 and 350). I was never very good but, heck, there's no better way to clear your head and sharpen your focus than riding a trials bike, right? Now, given my advancing years and the numerous replaced or wobbly joints, I've retired my motocross and enduro kit and taken up ADV riding (Africa Twin). It's great fun, but I really needed a heavier 'dirt fix'. Hence, the Gasser. I live in Southeast Texas outside of Houston, which can make a billiard table seem bumpy, so I'll be building my own sections to refresh my…

Evening. I'm Kevin and new to the forum. Quite long in the tooth now but enjoy getting out on my KTM on the local lanes around Llangollen. Having always fancied a trails bike, especially in my youth when funds were too tight, its now or never. Heart is saying a TY175 or Fantic ( could never afford one when they were new), head says something modern for the reliability?. There is a pay per day wooded area near me so that would be a good place to start and hopefully try some easy events - twin shock event for newbies could scratch an itch and improve my laning skills to boot? Whatever I buy, I'm hoping to buy from a fellow enthusiast and not fr…

Hello all, we are a family with three kids living in the UAE. The kids share a Beta Rev 3 and I ride a GasGas TXT Pro 300, Model 2009. The GasGas is currently in bits and pieces since its engine was completely littered with mud and many other parts needed maintenance and a visual upgrade. Even though I am not an expert I work my way through the tutorials and videos I find online trying to rebuild the entire bike. The UAE is a perfect spot for trial riding. The mountains are up to 1800m high and as long as you are not on private property, you can ride wherever you want, camp overnight, and continue the other day. During 6 months of the year, we have moderate weather cond…

Greetings all, Newbie here. I've always admired the sport of trials, but never even imagined getting into it myself until Fortnine's video on the subject came out a couple years ago. That video struck a spark, and meeting local officials and getting to try balancing on a trials bike at the MP2024 motorcycle expo in February lit the flame. I found myself watching more and more videos on trials, drooling at a very cool Beta Techno for sale and doing more and more research, until one day I was doing a road trip to Porvoo with my 125cc scooter in tow to trade in for that Techno! For want of stiffer springs to suit my weight, proper boots and a tow bar for my car, …

Hi, at the age of 65 I am wanting to have a go at trials (only the begginer sections I expect) having a bit of a dodgy back I want the lightest bike that my tall frame will allow. As it will be the easy sections I doubt that power will be an issue and have been looking at 125 cc but I was wondering if an adult could ride the beta senior big wheel 80 cc. I am guessing this would be very light ?? Best regards David
