  6. Hi everyone. I'm new to this web site but not to trials. I started riding Observed Trials when I was 12 on a Honda TL-125. I worked for my Dad back then and he paid me $1.00 an hour. When I saved up enough money for half the price of a TL-125 my Dad put in the other half to buy the bike and get me into Trials. My first trophy I got was in the novice class in 1974 and I had "0" points for the day. That trophy was hand made by Jerry Young from PA out of cast iron. That's my favorite trophy. Then my parents bought me a 1974 Bultaco Sherpa-T 350. I did really good riding the Bultaco and Bultaco sponsored me. I was getting bikes for half price and free parts, which my parents …

Just thinking of buying a Montesa Cota 247 72-78. I had one when I was seventeen some 49 years ago. Thought it would be a fantastic project and also to get me fit. The only problem is some of the parts are missing, engine cover, exhast and rear brake lever. Just wondering are thease parts still available? sure there will be other parts it needs. .....Thanks ...Lee

Hi all, my name is Joe, from Cannock, Staffordshire. Just purchased an 06 rev 3. Got it fully stripped to address a few issues here and there but will be back together by the end of the week, fingers crossed. Looking for local advice on any winter trials practice or beginner events around the Midlands/Peaks/Dales. I am going to give Dave Lewis a bell about Penkridge, but thought I'd ask here in the meantime. Cheers !

Hi there - hailing from Winchester, VA. Judged a vintage trials competition back in college which got me hooked originally on motorcycles over twenty years ago. Since then, I’ve ridden street bikes and dirt bikes, restored a couple vintage bikes but never dabbled in trials. I’ve always wanted to, and now getting to a point where I’ll have more opportunity with kids getting older and such. Currently on the lookout for a good used trials bike and wondering what my best options, if there are any, for using a trials bike to ride some single track as well.

Hi, I'm Steve, thanks for your welcome to this site. Last summer I bought a 1976 model TY125 Yamaha, something I'd wanted since I was a kid (I'm 69 right now). It's in good condition but there's a few things need doing as it didn't run for a long time. Can't really use it in the Paris region, apart from the odd run down to the village pub on Sunday, but occasionally we put a couple of bikes in a van and go off trail riding over a weekend. Enough for me, it stops me getting old too quickly 😁

Hi all, been into bikes since I was a lad now in my 50's and trying trials.i ride a xt660 for my daily and live in the east Midlands. I had a converted ts185 and really enjoyed doing bits and bats so sold it and got a fixer upper gg jt350 ( hindsight is a wonderful thing) but hey ho. I'm fitting lots of new parts and some second hand parts to get it up to standard. I'll be asking lots of q's regarding the bike so hopefully there's lots of techs on he🙏 thanks Jonny

Hi all. Well finally got a trials bike - better late than never. ‘86 ty250 that’s a bit old and tatty (like it’s owner). Guess i’ll be here a fair bit ad i can’t find a useful workshop manual. Sorting the clutch is the first issue as it’s not good. Lever pulls but the bike barely rolls. I put in 5th a gently rocked it to free it up as it seemed stuck - it did the old leap forward when i put it in gear, clutch lever pulled in! Help always Appreciated. Thanks. Beardy.
