Hello everyone. I'm 62 and just purchased my first trial's bike. I've been informed that there are three types produced in 1988. Again it's a Beta tr34 260. I found numbers stamped on the left side behind the yoke. Beta B 3 This winter I plan a rebuild. Minor one. She starts cold on second kick. Hot on the first. If I can find parts I believe I need a crank seal ( smoker ) and a top end. However far I get I would like it to be correct. Clear coat or paint? Just to mention one of a hundred questions I have. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Donnie

Hi everyone back into biking after 20 years, wanted to get back for many years but now have time and money. Bought a 198a (250 about 1979/80) need to know if anyone can help with details of colour and I need an electronic user manual can anyone help! Anyway it runs has a red tank but blue side panels and blue frame. Looking at pictures it should have a black engine but this one is silver and black top end? Is there any trails clubs in the South Yorkshire area. Thanks and all the best.

Hello everyone out there in trials world. My name is Robby and I used to do trials back in the late 60s early 70s at my local meetings at Buxton, Matlock and Leak etc. I was never brilliant but loved every Sunday when trialing, I used to ride a mclaren suzuki, I wish I still had it now, I found it very light and easy to ride. I am in the process of restoring a Bultaco 250, it's a bit of a miss match but all there, I would like to thank Pete at in motion trials for all his excellent help and advise on my project, his service and aftersales is second to none.

Hi Guys, Been signed up for over a year but not made a post, so thought I should say hi. I have just taken delivery of a Montesa 4RT, not new, but good enough for me to get back into the sport. I previously owned another Montesa, a 315R and used to compete in local clubman trials. Something I plan to do again with my new to me 4RT.

After 43 years of no trials bike, I did it - I bought a new-to-me '23 GasGas 300 TXT. In my earlier days I had a Yamaha TY250 then a couple of Sherpa T's (250 and 350). I was never very good but, heck, there's no better way to clear your head and sharpen your focus than riding a trials bike, right? Now, given my advancing years and the numerous replaced or wobbly joints, I've retired my motocross and enduro kit and taken up ADV riding (Africa Twin). It's great fun, but I really needed a heavier 'dirt fix'. Hence, the Gasser. I live in Southeast Texas outside of Houston, which can make a billiard table seem bumpy, so I'll be building my own sections to refresh my…

Hi I am Richard I live in France (Brittany) and am new to trials. I have an R6 road bike but fancy some fun on a Trials bike. Plenty of land around me to get me started but bikes appear to be in short supply and condition may be a problem. I have done some reading looking around and fancy a Beta Rev3 probably an 03-06 would prefer a 125 or 200 but I see more 250s advertised. Could end up finding one in the UK and bring it back. Be handy to find one near the ferry that is road registered and ride it on save paying to bring the car/trailer over. Looks a friendly forum full of useful info

Hi folks, Picked up a 2000 Sherco 290 this evening for a very fair price. I have a Husaberg FE550 for green laning and light enduro, but now it's time to actually learn some skills! The Sherco runs reasonably well but has a couple of things that need addressing. One thing I'm wondering about is the revs hanging when I blip the throttle. There's so much conflicting advice online about this but the general consensus seems to be that it indicates a lean condition. I assume this means a lean air/fuel mixture, rather than a lean oil/petrol mixture? I'm new to 2 strokes With a bit of luck this can be addressed with the carb, and doesn't mean I've got leaky crank seal…

Hi, I Just bought a Beta Techno Dougie Lampkin replica. It was in terrible condition as the previous owner neglected the bike big time. I had to buy it, as what a waste of a bike. But to be honest, i think i paid a bit too much for the bike in the condition it was in (£600). On closer inspection nearly every bearing has gone on it and will all need replacing. I am on the lookout for a wokrshop manual. I have the owners manual but it doesn't really go into too much detail. I have started the restoration of the bike and i am finding it hard to source parts for it. I will try to upload some pics when i can.

Hi all, Just a quick hello Just started entering for trials about a month ago, never been on a trials bike before till about 6 months ago have entered a few trials so far & keep getting the wooden spoon!! every time i dont care tho cause i love it. 2nd last would be better tho does the suspension setup matter on the bikes? I've got a 2002 Beta 250, just got it had a 2002 Sherco 290 before, got rid because it was more like a scrambler, couldnt master the throttle on it, it was all or nothing with it! any tips appreciated, Cheers Steve

I'm new to this so I hope it works! I need a new bike for LDT's ( ie approx 70 mile trials / mixture of road and lanes + 30 odd sections ). These are great events but being in the late 50's I'm looking for a bike thats light and easy to ride. I've narrowed the choice down to a Scorpa sy250 long ride or a Montesa 4rt with one of the aftermarket long range seat tank units. The problem is deciding which. Does anybody have any advice on which is the better bike for this sort of event? Thanks for any help. Pete

Hi, seems to the the done thing to write some sort of intro, so, I bought my first trials bike a few weeks ago, a GasGas txt 321 (1999) needs a few things doing to it, but i've never had a bike before, so unfortunately for you lot, lots of probably really stupid questions will be coming! first one would be, I've got to fit a rubber tensioner block, can it be done without splitting the chain (no chain splitting tool, no idea what chain it is, how to measure its pitch, or know what new master links to buy) wish me luck lol Blake

I live in mid-michigan, 2001 montesa and I are looking for places and people to ride with. It seems the semi local meets never fit into my schedule ,though I did one and it was fun. Need others to learn from and push me. Been riding alone for my first two years at this.

Hi all, I am hoping for a bit of advice or thoughts on this one. I am new to trials and have bought a Rev 3 from a dealers, as I thought this would be a safer bet for a new rider. First bike I bought I found the frame around the tank was cracked so I returned the bike and it was exchanged for a different bike, meant to be an 06 but it may actually be an 05. Within 10 mins of riding the bike for a second time it starting making a nasty whining noise so I went to limp the bike back to the van to take a look and it stopped and locked solid, kick start won't budge. The bike was meant to of had mains and seals done by the dealer, so would of thought there should be no major…
