I am a long time Michelin tire user, but I am considering switching to Dunlop for a new rear trials tire (to save $). I ride in the Advanced Class in Wisconsin/Illinois, over wet logs, dry logs, rocks (round, angular, wet, dry, mossy, slipery, grippy), mud, dirt, sand, dust, clay, rocky creekbeds, grass, etc. Would riding on a Dunlop feel much different? Would the tread last longer than a Michelin? thanks, Dave

2007 AMA/NATC Senior 55 Champion Marvin Edgington and 2007 AMA/NATC Senior 60 Champion Dale Malasek were seen on the Lazy E Arena during round 2 of the AMA EnduroCross series. I caught a photo of them during the track walk. Let's have a little fun with a caption contest. Winner will receive a autographed copy, REVolution video from Pat or Smagical Adventure video from Phil. (Keep it clean)

I've been watching this guy and have to give him some props. Vern is an AZ Senior Novice rider. [Ever see the movie Hot Rod? If not, go rent it. Hilarious.] The movie was written about a guy just like Vern, except Vern is 52 years old who acts like a teenager and has a tremendously positive attitude. He is Deadly slow, so slow infact that sometimes you can't tell if he is moving, and that is no exageration. He is so slow, the crowd ends up cheering for him when he gets over an obstacle. To be beaten by Vern, while on a running motorcycle is... well, I can't even imagine. Just the same, he is out there and having a great time. ENJOYING THE SPORT HE LOVES AND NOT COMP…

This thread is dedicated to Andrew Oldar, one of the finest young talents out there. This gentleman has worked diligently to progress to where he is today ON TOP of the 125 class with tremendous guidence from another Southern California legend, Mark Oldar [You know, the first guy to build and ride a 4 stroke in modern competition, well before Honda!!!] CONGRATULATIONS ANDREW!!! It's time to come on over to the TFM pits and partake in a well deserved beverage of adult caliber. Disclaimer: Of course EVERYBODY knows that we are talking about a NON- alcoholic beverage.....RIGHT?!?!? Yeah that's it. Dabnabit, you just make sure Mark doesn't catch wind of this.

Any suggestions on where to ride in the Moab area? I'm heading out to Utah the end of September to do some mountain bike riding and I'm thinking of taking my Montesa. Are you allowed to ride a trials bike on the slickrock trail? What other areas are available? thanks in advance

As seen elsewhere on the net. http://www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/rapidresponse.asp As clipped............................ State Legislation Would Make It Illegal for Anyone under the Age of 14 to Operate an ATV, Dirtbike or Snowmobile Joint Committee on Transportation rewrites restrictive bill -- still bans youth riding Senate bill 2735, which is a rewrite of House bill 3592 by the Joint Committee on Transportation, would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 14 to operate an ATV, off-highway motorcycle or snowmobile. I just got back from Colorado about 2am Tuesday morning from the Ute Cup and spent two days in cold rain and hail, checking six sections in all, trying not to fall off the mountain trail on the way up and back from my sections, dodging pack horses on a loop that had a 6" wide track of mud to follow and straight down the mountain on the low side, bouncing over more uphill boulder trails than I thought possible, climbing up and down mud hills all day (well, mostly sliding on my butt) helping riders extracate themselves from the slop and dodging stuff that squirrels were throwing at me. And ya know what?, I can't remember having so much fun at a Trial. The RMTA put on a gre…

Peter Arnold and his awesome wife have arrived in the US from Australia. They arrived around the 4th of July in LA (southern CA), bought a motor home and are traveling the USA. They stopped by for dinner in the boon docks of Boulder Creek. They are then headed to San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and then North to Canada. Dont worry I already warned them about Ishy and Fracey. If in Texas told them to stay the hell away from Copey . From there I have no idea where they are heading. It was a real joy spending the evening with a Trials rider from Australia. Hearing how they run things and people in their club. I hope you get a chance to meet them. Hopefully they can …

In the pro class Colton and Phil were the only two to qualify for the Pro Main event. Colton came in third, holding that position the entire race. Phil battled hard from 8th to 10th, finishing 10th. Keith and Geoff just kept coming up short in the heats, semi's and LCQ. Phil won the TrialsCross class in a tight battle over Keith Wineland. A few faster kids beat the old trio of Marvin, Vern and I, with only seven riders competing. I finished dead last, crashing way too many times to count. One over the bar crash on the logs drew a loud applause from the 4000 in attendance. Phil had the crash of the evening in the hot lap session, shattering his chest protector. Everyone t…

Folks, We are in the final stages of forming a new Trials Club in the Charlotte Metrolina area. The web site: http://metrolinatrials.com/ is almost finished (should be operational in a few days) and will have all of the information about joining the club, event schedules, competition classes, awards, etc. Our mission is to promote the sport of Motorcycle Observed Trials in the Metrolina area, and hopefully introduce many new people to this great sport. We plan to have two events this year, one in Monroe, NC. and the other in a new area in Spencer, NC. (the property borders the new High Rock Racetrack) We have high hopes for the club, and are planning fourteen events…

Hi any helpful person in Cedar Knolls area of New Jersey able to do a favour for me. I have located a bearing I need for a vintage BSA trials bike in New Jersey. It is unavailable in the size I need anywhere in Europe. The makers are kind enough to sell me a single unit at $10.95 but because of their internal systems for overseas orders they would have to charge $25 for wire transfer cost and a further $75 for UPS. Brings the price up ten fold. If I send them a dollar bank draft and a local address they can send it out (rather than sending me through a distributor at a bigger cost). So if anyone out there is willing to collect this bearing from Consilidated Bearings and …
