Does anyone have a contact number or e-mail for Golden Valley? There's nothing on their website and the contact page doesn't work.

  2. Started by neandethal,

Hi, Just a couple of questions about classic trials events and bike spec. The clutch on my Ossa MAR is heavier than the one on my Ducati, and on Ebay you can buy some really cheap chinese hydraulic clutch kits whihc might bring a solution to the heaviness, would these be allowed in twin shock trials or is it deemed out of keeping? Secondly, as acquired the bike is missing one spoke out of each wheel, can you buy single spokes, if so from where, or would it not be a scrutineering failure? Thanks for any advice offered. regards, Ian.

  3. Started by neandethal,

Hi, just changed the clutch springs in my Ossa Mar250 trying to make the pull more acceptable and now the kickstart doesn't work when the kickstart lever is moved by hand there is very little pressure and then you hear (What i assume to be the return spring) make a spring slipping noise, but the engine hardly turns before the spring makes it's noise and the lever just flops. Any guidance appreciated, i have checked cable isn't kinked and has plenty of slack at the lever, but have'nt gone back to original springs yet but i cant see the clutch slipping, as i know the kickstart drives through the clutch. I guess its something obvious i'm missing.

I am thinking about getting into some "classic" or "vintage" trials events next year, and since I need a new build project, I thought it might be nice to build a decent vintage trials bike. Mind you, my level is novice at best (been riding trials for a year, I can balance, do lock to lock turns, clean 1' to 1.5' obstacles). I looked for the AHRMA rule books for trials and the classes listed on their web site are: 13.1.1 PREMIER HEAVYWEIGHT: Certain pre-1965 era and like design, non-unit construction (separate, removable gearbox), four-stroke machines, 350cc and larger. Examples: BSA B32, Ariel HT., Triumph Trophy, Royal Enfield Bullet, etc., or accurate replica…

Hi putting a pre 65 bike together and have an AJS Stormer alloy wheel and hub, can this be used! I have seen a few bikes with what looks like this setup or is there something else similar. Or what's the best setup to use, can't afford new alloy one's yet.

  12. Started by stephen m,

I have just bought my first trials bike and it's a Bantam. I wondered if anyone could help identify the forks it has fitted? It has billet yokes and the forks look a bit like the REH ones - except they have a bracket for the hub stay(?) and have an external nut on the spindle rather than the internal type thing on the REH ones. Any pointers more than welcome! Anyone recognise them?

Hi Guys, i'm hoping someone might be able to help with a problem i'm having. I'm assembling a cub that i brought in (many) parts. I've had the crank rebuilt, cylinder re bored and I'm fitting a new piston. I've just reassembled the top end and found that when i turn the engine over it's getting stuck fast at tdc (or thereabouts). I've taken the head off and removed the pushrods. Then put the head back on (minus pushrods) - still fouling! removed the head and (at the point i met resistance) and piston is approximately 1mm above the top of the barrel. If i continue to turn the engine over (from when i met resistance) and with the head removed it travels another 2mm…
