I have been riding and restoring trials bike for the past 25 years. The riding has never been very serious...some sand...some drop-offs...some small ledges to climb up...some rocks, etc...Not climbing up freezing streams or anything like that...all older and smaller bikes...TLR 200, TY 175...etc... nothing modern. For the past three years I have been out of commission. I've had some medical issues including a prostate surgery and I'm in the middle of some procedures on my eyes. The day before yesterday I went out for a couple of shortish rides...in very warm weather I might say. I came home exhausted after probably 45 minutes of riding. Two days later I am still sore…

For the last ten years the Banbridge & District Motorcycle Club have run one of the few classic trials in Northern Ireland; this year they stepped up a gear and organised a two day event. The venues for Saturday and Sunday were only about 10 minutes apart, with camping available beside Turley's Bar and the Flax restaurant. Mervyn set out a great course with hard and easy routes, catering for both Pre 65s and twin shocks. The easy route was negotiable by novices but still included enough to challenge the concentration and skills of the more experienced riders. Each day was set out as 4 laps of 10 sections, all off road so no road traffic requirements. The majority of…

Hi all, this is my early Dalesman. My best Google image searching has not found another with the same standard forks and the rear brake/peg arrangement that mine has. Is it just a really early one? Can anyone recommend any upgrades? Front forks are very stiff with little travel, which probably isn't ideal. Don't want to do anything to loose its charm, but could do with it being a bit less hard work.

OK, I have been away for a month, missed both the biggest trials of the year, pre65 and the 6 days but now I want to catch up and I can't find anything on the pre65 2 day, is it a secret or something ? Searched this site and the general Internet and nothing, is it because I am using an I-pad ? If it is then that's ridiculous. Help please

I'm still restoring my late model Dalesman trials (circa. 1973 - the one with the Sachs engine). Does anyone have photos showing the original design of both the chainguard & the chain tensioner ...... or even better, have spare ones for sale? Also trying to find front & rear black 'VF' mudguards. Have attached the only good photo I've found of this model of trials bike but any others would be much appreciated. Thanks.
