Hi all, Ive recently got a 2017 txt racing 300 and it’s making a noise in the gearbox. There is a ticking noise that im assuming is the chain as it does this in time with the master link. But once I shift into 4th gear the box starts to whine like crazy. I know theyre straight cut gears but it sounds like a race car, it’s almost louder than the engine. I’ve been told that it’s a case of possibly bearings or something in the box but seen on an older post on here that the whine is “somewhat normal” im just trying to figure out if I need to take the engine out or not as I’ve never done it before and dont want to do it if I don’t have to. But I want to do as much as I ca…

Just spent an afternoon doing some relatively high-speed single-track trail riding and noticed two odd noises: 1) shifting from third to fourth produces a dramatic CLUNK, and 2) fourth gear whines loudly, unlike any other gear. I've only had this bike a short while, but never noticed these noises before. Then again, I rarely went past third gear, so it could have made these sounds and I just didn't notice. Are these normal for a 2012 Pro with less than 15 hours? I recently replaced the oil, which was ATF, with more of the same (about 400cc or so - level is 3/4 up sight glass). I don't notice any difference in clutch action. Thanks for your input.

Hi im going to rebuild this. Can any won help me to identify what kind this one is? Year? Engine size?

  7. Hello I have a 2014 GG Replica, it has an "older" rear brake master cylinder (part number BT660002811) as it wasn't available quickly enough, I bought the newer version (part number BT66000GG-CSV-1). The banjo on the older is 8mm and the more recent is 10mm, I made the new house with proper banjos. However, I am not able to get it working correctly. The brake is really weak, almost non-existent. There is a chance, that I still have air in the system, but pumping the brake does not make it any better. Checked/done so far: 1) No leaks; 2) New hose, proper armoured hydraulic hose, professionally made 3) Probably no air, I injected the oil from the calliper side…

  8. Started by PatMc,

Evening all I’ve recently rebuilt the engine in the above mentioned bike and it starts and runs but there is a running issue. When it’s idling it seems to hold the revs just fine but if you give the throttle a blip at all, it seems to rev really aggressively and takes a few seconds to drop back to a normal tickover. Also on initial start up if you use the choke fully open it seems to absolutely rev its knackers off . I can tell it’s a fuelling/carb issue but unsure what to look for . Thanks in advance if any of you can help Kind regards Paddy

Just bought the official GG repair kit for a 2012 TXT and was surprised to find that they don’t come with the round pin that connects the shaft to the drive so if you are changing yours make sure you don’t damage the pin when removing it. Rang around and nobody has the pin in stock in the U.K.

  10. The needle bearings are exposed on one side only. I did not take note on disassembly. Do the bearings roll on the tappet or the backing plate... Thank you in advance.. Jeff

I need to find a clutch master cylinder for a gasgas txt 280 2001 model. Any hints would be grateful

  12. I need to replace the 2 seals between the exhaust header and mid section on my 2024 TXT Pro Racing. Any advice? Remove header or mid box? I looked at removing the header pipe but can't see how i can get the lower hex bolt out of the barrel as the exhaust is in the way. A normal Allen key will go on but will only turn a few mm before it hits the exhaust or sump guard/frame. Any help/tips much appreciated. Thanks.

  13. Bought the bike about 6 weeks ago, the seller said he had moved the rear brake reservoir due to exhaust melting the pipe or something like that. Attached photo shows where he has fitted it, can someone show me where it is supposed it be fitted. Also I need to change the rear master cylinder, the brake light switch/banjo is no longer needed and a bit suspect so want to replace it with a banjo bolt, what size/ thread pitch is it? Cheers Tim

24’ mc 250. Bike ran fine last time i rode it, pressure washed it and now when the bike is off the fi light is on and solid along with the hour meter (hour meter runs if I don’t disconnect battery). Every 2 minutes or so while the bike is off and lights are on, it sounds like the fuel pump starts up for a second then will do it again in another 2 minutes. But the bike starts and runs fine. Only an issue when it’s off and sitting. Anyone ever have this happen? Any tips ?

  15. '98 TX270 purchase last week. I removed the clutch cover to add oil and found the fiber squeezing out the side of the pressure plate. Remove the pressure plate and found the fiber in four pieces. Any aftermarket brands recommended for this model? I'll begin my Google search after posting. Thank you all in advance!

Just bought the bike a couple days ago and need direction and guidance for repairs. No luck searching Google. Happy to have found this Awesomely informative site! Thank you all in advance.

  17. As title says, frame number suggests it's build is march 04. The master cylinder tops have been changed for aftermarket ones so can't go by the colour of the top. I had the Idea to take the top off and dab a cotton bud into fluid and rub it onto a painted surface (not on the bike 😉) and it took the paint off, so assuming I have DOT4 and not mineral oil unless that strips paint as well 🤔 Want to top up master cylinder and fit a repair kit. Cheers Tim

  18. Started by excess,

So i found this bike for a good price I'm picking it up in a few days. It's going to be a spare bike so when buddies come to the house they have something to fool around on. It was listed as a 2013 and my first thought was the seller was just incorrect on the year. The more I research i think it actually is a 2013 (10th character of VIN is N). I think its some kind of economy version that used old left over frames and cheaper suspension and brakes. If that's true I don't know anything about this version. Can anyone fill me in on details? Specifically the suspension and brakes?

Just purchase this trials bike this evening and trying to figure out model It did start on first kick but was unable to ride it. Would only continue to fire on 1 sec intervals at wide open throttle with heavy smoke. So just.. pop..pop..pop.

Morning, Has anyone found an alternative supply of piston seals for the Hebo rear calipers? The 24mm piston version. Cheers.
