Hi Guys, just got my new bike at the weekend, a 2010 TXT 300 in great nick with no real hard rinding done on it. The problem is this... starting it is a complete pig! it has very high compression as it would have but I can kick it till I am wrecked and not even fire? Then with the same kick later it fires up fine, once running it is brill and so much power : ) But after 40 kicks to start it 3 times is gets very boring, any ideas would be a help. Chris

Hi all, ive been ridding on the TXT for a few weeks now and loving it. I have a strange issue where it will be in first gear and I can be moving and all of sudden it stalls and locks up. The bike won't move if I pull the clutch in or not its like its stuck solid. After a bit of rocking back and forth I can get it in neutral and away I go a again. The first time I thought it was rider error. Its now done it twice today, the motor/transmission sounded rattly before both times. The rest of the day its sounded sweet. Its like its not engaged properly and jumps out of gear but instead of a false neutral it just locks up. Any common issues I should be looking at other than buyi…

When he purchased the bike the seller got it working and when we got it home my husband got it working fairly quickly, however after it had been turned off we couldn't get it kick started again. We ve had the bike to a mechanic and he's checked things like, the carb (fully stripped), the spark, fresh fuel and it still won't kick start.. please can someone help??

Hi I have a gas gas ec 125 from 2014 and have recently come to find it has a burnt out magneto and needs a new cdi. I have found the magneto quite easily although can’t seem to find a cdi in stock for that year. Does anyone know if the 2015 cdi is different? Looking to buy in Spain or Uk.

I fitted new seals and am a bit baffled. One seal is leaking. No scratches on fork leg but you can see the oil bubbling up very slowly past the seal. Seal is in the correct way, open side facing the oil.... Any suggestions greatly appreciated.. Gary

Hi - this disintegrated whilst rebuilding the bike… any idea which part / part number it is? I can’t see/find it in the parts book. 🫠 07 TXT Pro 250. Can’t add or link it at the moment… it’s a plastic part that’s right under the headstock and the tabs come round the frame.

So, the S3 low comp head arrived for my 2000 TXT 250, it's a work or art, half tempted to put it on the mantle piece but I'm sure it'll be more useful on the bike! I've had a search online and I'm seeing different values for the torque required on the head bolts after fitting. I've seen everything fro 15 - 25 ft lb. I was expecting to see NM. Has anyone got a definitive answer for the older pre pro engine? Cheers

I am possibly going to look at a little GasGas txt 2000 50cc twist and go for for my lad. Apparently it did run but know the guy can’t get it started after it’s been sat for a while. What sort of psi should I be looking at on a compression test? Obvs it will be cold too, also do you test with throttle wide open the same as we do on 4 stokes?

So the txt 280 pro is up and running, gets up to temperature fine and the fan kicks in like it should and seems to ride fine. I have noticed that the small breather pipe exiting the casing near the gear lever is slightly dripping oil, seems and smells like gearbox or atf oil. The pip is routed out by the bottom of the rear shock. Seems to drip only when revs are increase. Is this normal? Sorry I am just not that clued up with these little 2 strokes, gimme a Japanese 4 stroke 4 cyclinder race bike any day of the week 😂

Hi all, I've had a frustrating few weeks of coolant problems, tired leaking pipes, jubilee clips and coolant dripping here, there and everywhere. Finally diagnosed/realised that the coolant hose insert into the barrel of my 2004 125 txt pro is very slightly weeping. I removed the insert (which was only just finger tight) and cleaned it up and when checking the fibre washer, it just disintegrated. Bought a new fibre washer to replace it but just wondering if I should use some form of sealant on the threaded insert, some thing like gasket sealant or PTFE tape for instance? Thoughts and advice appreciated.

Hello, first wanted to say what a great site. I picked up a 2009 Gas Gas 300 TXT Pro as my first trials bike and having a blast. though I am trying to work out the carb settings....it seems to smoke more than I think it should, at least compared to my other other 2 bikes(KTM and YZ125) and seems to be using more fuel than what I expect. Just playing around the yard with 1/2 idle and 1/2 clearing it out with modest throttle( no more than 1/2 throttle) it seems to burn about 40oz of fuel in a 15-20 session. it has plenty of power. I am at 350ft above sea level and has the following settings which is how I received it: Dellorto Carb 118 Main, 35 Pilot, D3…

Hi all live got a 2003 gas gas 280 , I’ve had the clutch replaced when I had the crank case bearing done about two weeks ago at a trial at the weekend after about a hour the clutch was slipping in all gears , the oil has no contamination , I have noticed that the clutch piston has some Oil seeping out and the oil is turning a black colour could this leak be what the slipping is ie not enough pressure to release it’s a formula clutch and have been told these are not good and to get a ajp mineral one as this is what should have been on it regards Michael

Evening All Recently bought a 2005 Gas Gas txt 250 pro. After a few rides about on it I’ve encountered some issues. It starts and runs fine but when it’s anyway warm and the engine stops it will , under no circumstances start again. At first I thought it was a coil pack , I replaced it with a new one and the issue is still there unfortunately. I fear it may be the stator at fault . It’s worth noting it’s using a Kokusan stator. Anybody on here had anything similar issues , any help or pointers will be genuinely appreciated. Thanks all Regards Pat Mc

Eventually had my 280 running at the weekend but realised the fan wasn’t kicking in. Tested the fan on a 12v supply all good. Looking at a wiring diagram, the yellow supply should come up to then thermo switch and then to the rectifier to supply the fan via the red and blue plug. The yellow supply on mine was straight into the rectifier and then out via the other yellow to the thermo switch and then earthed the other side. Is this correct or has been botched previously. I don’t seem to have a green earth either on the fan plug as in the diagrams. I’ve just purchased another rectifier as the wires were hanging by a thread on mine but it’s the same as in the pic.

One is already fitted to the one side of the inside seal and one was on nothing, The only place I can think this extra spring goes is in the little circle space on the other side of mentioned seal.. am I correct or is it just a spare spring?

I finally found out why my 1992 Gas Gas GT25 Contact trials bike had no spark and this is what I did to fix it. First I bought a new spark plug and tested it, still no spark. I unhooked the kill switch thinking it may be shorted out somewhere, nope still no spark. I took the coil off and tested it with a Multimeter and the coil tested ok but the spark plug boot was all over the place on the multimeter so I replaced the boot with a new one. Still no spark at plug, but I'm getting hopeful. I had help from this web site and my earlier post from Lineaway, Lemur and Tr1al who told me to go to thehellteam.com. Paul Arnott from thehellteam.com helped me get a wiring diagram and …

I bought a new 1992 Gas Gas GT25 Contact with the hydraulic clutch back in 1993. I still have that bike and I have been fixing it up to sell. After all the work I did I found out it has no spark. I put a new plug in it and disconnected the kill switch, still no spark. There is a picture below of my coil and electrical components without the gas tank on. I'm not sure where the black kill switch wire goes to. It goes from the handlebar to a green clip type plastic box. This box plugs into a second half of another box. See the attached picture. I'm kind of lost with these wires. I'm not sure where it continues to go from there. I removed the coil and replaced the coil spar…
