Few questions if anyone can help please? 1) Gas Gas parts give the three orings on the slave cylinder (1 outside that hold the needle roller, two hydraulic seals inside) as the same. Can that be right? 2) Are friction and/or steel plates interchangeable from old and new models? 3) What significance do the crosses on the standard steel plates have? Thanks in advance.

Is there an end float dimension/spec for the crank when refitted the casings? Doing ok with the exploded parts diagrams and mechanical nous… but want to check this one before I pull the crank and bolt it back up.

Just picked up 23 TXT 300 and the manual calls for 67:1 oil ratio. Does anyone know if this is Euro spec or U.S. spec ratios? or should I be mixing at 70 or 80:1 I am running 90 octane Ethanol free fuel and live in the U.S. I am using Motorex Crosspower 2T

Hi everybody, I’m paolo, enduro rider and I’ve just purchased my first trial bike, a second hand gg 250 txt ‘21. long story short: gear is very noisy when shifting 4-5 gear… I would say it seems grinding a bit in some cases. All other shifts are smooth (also 5-4) and the bike seems to run very well. I’ve read a lot of posts on this topic but it’s still unclear to me if I have to be worried or not (nearest mechanic is 100 km far…) and in case which is the right technique to adopt in order to minimise this issue… thanks everyone for your help p

Although experienced in motorcycle racing/riding, I am brand new to trials. I have a 2023 Gas Gas 300 TXT Racing. As I ride the bike, I am sometimes feeling like I need more throttle on demand. Perhaps, a larger ratio throttle tube. Maybe something like a 1/4 turn. Am I out of my mind or, is this something others have done to their bikes. Is the stock throttle tube OK and i just need to learn to use it better or what? Appreciate any and all comments.

So I have a 1999 gas gas txt321 I just got it’s my first trials bike and I took off the clutch to have a look at it to make sure it was all sound then when I put it back together it won’t engage or disengage the clutch there seems to be no pressure at all I never messed with the master cylinder or any of the clutch side lines and it was working perfect before I messed with the clutch’s internals is there a trick to it or something I’ve never messed with hydraulic clutches before so any advise would be much appreciated

Has anyone tried DP clutch plates and if so how do they compare to Surflex. I have tried the Kevlar and find them too sharp for my liking. Any feedback would be appreciated.

On the older Gas Gas machines (2000) the stator back plate is slotted, and adjustable. Are there timing marks on the back plate to put a replacement stator back in the correct position?

Anyone switched from semi to fully synthetic on the older TXT Pro (07 250)? I was able to get Petronas 10w-40 semi before and maybe able to get again… fully synthetic will be easier to get though. Mindful of the clutch and not sure how it’ll take to fully synthetic? Bike currently in a hundred bits… but finally getting the time to rebuild it. Front and rear wheel bearings changed, carb stripped and floats replaced. Don’t have enough 5w oil as finish the forks today, ordered some from Amazon. The Petronas oil is massively overpriced on Amazon, as are most of the other semi synthetic options.😬 Front and rear brakes to do, going to strip the callipers whilst th…

I am looking for a new trials bike. I have a 1996 Beta Techno. Its still running OK, but I would like something newer and lighter with a right side kick start, a smooth clutch and a steeper fork angle than the old Techno. The new 2023 GASGAS TXT looks good on the Trail Tube and KTM-GASGAS videos. Has anyone ridden one yet and what do you think? Thanks, Steve

As above… cases are split to do the gearbox bearings and replace the o-rings in the gearbox crank seal side (all good, just worn o-rings appear to be the source of burning gear oil). Anything particular to watch out for when reassembling? Never done it but between the KTM manuals and the Jim Snell videos, should be able to figure it out. Any pointers welcome.

As above… anything to watch out for? Bike (07 250 TXT Pro) has a rideable slow puncture. Band was replaced a couple of years ago with the tyres and the rear rim. It was leaking after being rebuilt by the shop, they sealed it and also trued the wheel up. Wary of what I’m going to find when I pop the tyre off… maybe it’ll be as simple as swapping the band?🤪

I spent most of today riding my firs at trial bike, a new 2021 TXT 250. I spent part of the day pushing the bike back to civilization after the kickstarter broke at its “ankle” (at the shaft where it pivoted). Granted, I was kicking away restarting after a rest, but I am surprised by this failure. Are there stronger kickstarter levers than OEM or should I buy another OEM and be a bit more gentle?

Spoiler Evening all, was hoping someone might be able to shed a little light on a problem with my sons 125. Its a 2019 125 and after about 30 mins of running it runs rough and won't go. I have had the carb off stripped and cleaned it all a couple of times now with no improvement. I have replaced the seal on the bottom of the choke plunger also. It runs for about half an hour absolutely perfect then starts to struggle and run rough. Won't rev etc. If I take the plug out its all black and sutted up. I cleaned it off again today and it still wouldn't go. Last time it was out, it did the same thing and we put a fresh plug in it and it went a…

I have a brand new 2018 TXT280 that I picked up as a left over. I have rode it twice and its very hard to start, especially when its hot. I actually broke the kick starter off after my first ride kicking on the thing! The carb is clean, it has fresh gas (non-ethanol 80:1 Motorex) and a fresh plug. It seems like unless I kick it perfectly, it won't start. My friends have Sherco's and they all seem way easier to start.. Is there a recommended jetting specification I should run? 1000ft above sea level, 50-60 degrees? Would there be any benefit to mixing in some race gas? (Id doubt it but can if it helps..) Should I look over e…

Just curious as to other people's thoughts. I am fortunate in owning both a 2021 Gas Gas TXT 250 Racing and a 2018 Beta Evo 300 2T for friends to use. I am a 60-yr old rider with strength issues following a minor stroke. To me, the Evo is very noticeably heavier tho' the internet puts the GG at 67kg and the Evo at 69kg. Although 2kg/ 4.4ibs is a considerable weight if you had to carry it around with you all day, to my mind the difference feels greater than that. Plus, the Vertigo Titanium is listed at 66kg. All that extra money for less than 1kg? Your having a laugh. So, is the difference I notice an illusion caused by frame geomentry and weight distri…
