I'm in the process of rebuilding a 2006 TXT Pro 300 that has been lying in my garage for a few years. I split the forks to do a simple oil and seals change but it has become a bit less straight forward. I haven't serviced forks on a trials bike before but have serviced forks on road based bikes several times. When I split the gas gas forks, I noticed the springs are coated in red paint and this has all started to flake off and obviously contaminate the oil as well. This seems like a silly finish to have on a fork spring. Are these aftermarket springs? One of the forks also has a broken shim (RHS fork). I'm not sure if I was a bit rough removing the cartridge (it…

Bike: GG 280 TXT PRO 2008 Hi all, I'm here for the first time, so appologise if I put this issue in wrong place. I'm sure each time you see "overheating" issue automatically you think... "no, another guy with fan problem". I'm trying to solve my issue from June this year. What's the problem... Problem is temp. of cooling liquid eaisly reaches over 110 degree so with clasic liquid means boiling and rest you know. I even could break pomp simering (attached as picture) - of course cooling tap is fully ok, open about 1 bar but with boiling liquid cannot handle this. Pomp is working and there is circulation of liquid (with transparent hose yo…

I got this bike in September and absolutely love it. I couldn't find a thing wrong with it in fact, everything works so great and feels really good. Out of my love for the bike, I decided since I weigh 230lbs that I need to do right by it and upgrade the rear spring to an 80. Well, I did and put it back together. Went out for a ride and found the rear to feel dead. Like I'd hear a thud hitting obstacles like the tire was flat. There also isn't any sag so maybe I went a little high on the preload. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I think static sag is supposed to be 10-15mm. Where do you measure that from, which two spots? Tha…

Problem I’ve noticed is when running, there’s a slight drip weep out of the clutch case bolt under the site glass? I’ve taken it out and check it.. but just wondering how or what it could be. thanks for any help

Hi , Picked up my new Gas Gas Randonne'three weeks ago and rode it yesterday in the Bumpy Novice and Beginners trial . Apart from the header pipe being one of the ugliest on the market i.e. cat , mid box and leg guard , I love the little bike . The gearing needs altering and it feels as though it really needs to breath a lot better , any ideas on tuning anybody? Cheers Nick

Good Evening all! I’m looking at buying a TXT 250 Racing, 2021 model but I’ve heard too many rumours that they’re hard to start. I test rode one on Sunday and, to be fair, I had to get the owner to start it as it wouldn’t start for me. Is this a thing? Doesn’t make sense, surely it would put folks off buying them if they don’t start? My Beta Evo starts easy, I’m looking forward to the change as it’s a great bike to ride but will be mighty frustrated if I can’t start the thing, especially if I’m half way up a slippery bank! Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Prior to the 30c+ hot weather we've had recently my bike was running perfectly. Carburation was spot on. The last 2 trials have been in very hot weather and on tcikover the bike has started hunting a bit like it's running low on fuel. If I rev it then it's ok again for a few seconds then it starts picking and hunting again. The last trial I went to adjust the air mixture screw and found it was only half a turn out (I've not touched it in the 6 years I've had the bike, a 2014 300 Racing). Screwing it right the way in helped but not enough to completely eliminate the issue. What else can I do? Is there potentially a blockage somewhere? Do they do different air mix…

Is there a special procedure to bleeding the Gasgas clutch? So far I've tried standard on off bleeding, reverse bleeding with a syringe, suction bleeding with a syringe, and vacuum bleeding with a mates kit. I'm using atf mineral oil as I use in my KTMs. I've now ordered a new bleed nipple and some LHM fluid to try and rule everything out. The clutch has feel but no engagement.
