I want to fit a kill switch to my 348. The only wire being used is the black wire from stator to the coil(low tention circuit). Any suggestions on how to set it the kill switch up? One more question I have a mikuni carb fitted but on the air filter side rubber there is a gap, is there an adaptor which fits to the carb and fills the gap to the air filter rubber?

Warning: long message with copious amounts of techno-babble. I was reading an old discussion on this forum about whether the 4RT runs a “wasted spark” ignition (that is one spark per revolution of the crankshaft) rather than a more conventional (four stroke) one spark every 2nd revolution. It was also suggested that the fuel injection is not sequential but rather injects fuel continuously. Certainly Honda are not averse to using wasted spark ignitions - many of their multi-cylinder bikes do just that. And given the engine does NOT have a cam position sensor, both the above would be reasonable assumptions. However, I think I have managed to prove that the engi…

Hello My 301rr has a knocking noise on low revs. Not sure what it could be but a good mechanic told me it sounds like a worn piston. Bike is a 2020 and it has been used most weekends. Bike has no vibrations and runs great, it doesnt smoke. Anybody had to change their piston on the 301? Could their be other issues with the bike? Main bearings, big end? Or is this not something that goes wrong quickly? Kind regards bob

Has anyone tried a 260 head pipe on a 300. It looks a good bit smaller and I wonder if it would soften the response. I would like my 300 4RT to run more like a Beta 300.

Has anyone fitted heated grips to a 4ride (or a 4RT assuming they are the same) ? Splat shop do some sticky back heated elements that you then slip normal grips over the top, it says they consume 36W, will my 4 ride have enough power to drive them? And where am i best tapping into the wiring loom to take the feed?

I had the clutch cover off and am struggling to understand how the clutch actuator works. Every bike I remember controls the bike from the opposite side of the engine. A rod goes through and pushes the pressure plate out to create clearance and release the clutch. On this bike, the slave cylinder pushes in the opposite direction. So, is the movable pressure plate on the back side of the clutch pack when compared to other bikes? The parts list looks like that.

Hi, I’m about to buy a 4rt. How are people cleaning the fuel injection throttle body. Is it similar to a carb where you use carb cleaner or an airline to clean it out after a ride?

Hi all, Bought a 2016 300rr and the dealer put 10w40 tranny oil in it. Not Elf. Took for a practice. Felt fine until hot-hot and then refused to find any gear except the one it was in, had to turn off or wait until cool. Prefer not a light-switch clutch. What was the decision after the past decade since people chatting GRO?

How much do these links raise the bike? Does it provide a softer ride? The H&D description is hard to interpret. I'm not a trick rider but would like something more compliant so easier on an old body. The Montesa rear suspension also feels quite dead compared to my Beta 4T. "uprates the soft rear end and aids the ability to 'trick' ride and hop around the rear end by providing an even more progressive shock."

Just bought 2021 4RT 260 which is somehow messy and I start servicing it and got shocked 🤣 Im used to simple 2 stroke, and I couldn't believe all the hoses and wires running under the tank! what a mess! On the wiring side, I want to leave the bare minimum. I dont need lights and horn. I just want kiill switch and what ever the engine need (ECU, Fuel pump, fan). Any advice here? On the hoses side, that double fuel tank vent left me confused. What the lower one is good for? Can I remove/block it or it will have some unwanted effects doing so? The head vent goes into big catch tank. Is it ok to remove it and just route the hose into the ground? …

Motegi 2004. Japanese opening round of the world championship. First official release of the replacement bike of the Montesa 315R. The prototype of the RTL250F is presented to the public. Tomoyuki Ogawa will finish 9th. The legend of the 4RT is on the way. Here, I will show you my replica. It's a 2006 4rt. I was able to contact "Gatti"(T.Ogawa nickname) He saw the first photos of the restoration and appreciated this approach. While emphasizing that this motorcycle represented the beginning of the adventure. Adventure during which he piled up the Japanese championship titles on his handlebars. I asked him some questions about this bike rega…

Just thought I'd share a few photos of my 349. Just needs a couple of tweaks to get the gear change sorted and rear brake adjustment. Then get it registered. It's only taken 15 or so years!

Hello everyone, I have a problem with a 2005 Cota 4RT. After 10/15 minutes of riding, the bike shuts down, it seems to be a lack of fuel supply. As soon as it happens, I remove the spark plug and find it dry. After this, the bike starts up again immediately but then shuts down again after a few kilometers. I have replaced the fuel pump and filter, but with no results. When the engine is about to shut down, if I pull the clutch, it does not shut down, so in neutral position the engine runs well without issues; as soon as I shift into gear and increase the revs, it starts to misfire until it shuts down. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Thank you for the help!
