definately! i bought one for my dad who's 63 and he loves it! get a half decent one and you'll love it, very soft power delivery and nice neutral handling.
i get a load of bits off pidcocks, i also got the collars for my 315r of my local honda dealer, i walked in with part numbers and asked him to look them up.
i tried the hebo's on in the shop they felt very stiff thats why i went with diadora stone3, mate bought the hebo's i tried on and hates them with a passion! last 3 times out he's been in his wellies. wulf ones look ok i've had a bit of wulf stuff over the years and the quality is generally good.
i have two jackets, one lightweight with logos and a couple of pockets thats not waterproof and another spada waterproof enduro jacket with lots of pockets and is waterproof with body armour built in it has a zip out inner jacket if its really cold! i wear the spada one most often to carry plugs, mars bars and drinks!
i just lean it over a little and then get a rag on a screwdriver to clean up after 500ml of oil to go in have fun with that ridiculously small filler hole
same as but to refill i have a empty 500ml bottle that used to have gear oil in it that i used on my boat, it has a nozzle on it to squeeze the oil in thru an even smaller hole than the montesa one! i stuck a piece of plastic windscreen washer pipe on it, makes it a damn site easier to refill!
i know but when you take into account 2 quads, 2 trials bikes and 3 outboards all running petrol all year then in tear down time alone it makes it worth it to me, let alone 4 miles out to sea with the wife and kids on board!!
Today went out for the first time ever on a trial bike and I LOVED IT :-). Was really boggy but managed to keep bike in control, went up some banks that I thought I'd never manage to get up on a bike. After a good day I only came of once which I did think was to bad. So now I'm counting down the days till I'm out next :-). Of to Eastleigh tomorrow to watch some trials so will properly get the bug and be out somewhere tomorrow night.... Looking forward to many more years of riding
thanks for that link, its kinda like "all you want to know about trials technique but didnt dare ask for fear of ridicule coz your old an fat and useless"
interesting reading axelsuv, can't help wondering if the big manufacturers have looked at it and are maybe even working on it? honda ran a few oval piston bikes in the eighties, they even produced a road bike with them! the rather beautiful looking NR750 if i recall!!
My uncle Robbie used to say "what's for you won't go by you". It doesn't quite feel like that at the moment but I'm trying to believe in it!
What's everyone's opinions on the pre Showa equipped bikes? Is it worth me sticking to trying to find a good '01-'04 or should I be equally open to a well looked after '99 etc?
both mine are 98's with the paoli forks, the wiper seals for them are getting hard to find and expensive when you do! aside that there's not a lot of difference from what i can find out. i'd rather a clean unabused 98 than a ragged 2001!!
as some of you no iv have just got into trials, now iv got the trousers, helmet(mx one for the time being)gloves and waterproofs, how ever i havnt got any boots used to ride my pit bike in wellies. looking for some proper boots now.
question is are there any differences between trials boots and mx boots? and also what can u lot recommend dont want to spend mega
