  1. This is the current machine, anything other thanthis would be an upgrade, It isn't really a trials bike at all.
  2. I got a megamo, it is a pretty basic bike, I am going to improve it abit, but since I am just messing around then it doesn't really matter. I got it for

    Frame Polishing

could try some white spirit, or WD40, ifnot then maybe if you go with the grain of the brush then some brasso or fine metal polish. They definately look best with no stickers on, I am gonna take mine off when they get raggy. bob

    Exhaust Packing

Oven Insulation, MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING!!! Atleast you didn't use loft insulation, careful it doesn't catch fire on you, although chances are it will be OK. I need to repack my exhaust soon, should I just pack the muffler like normal, or should I be doing the front muffler under the seat aswell, if so how? thanks bob

    Beta Float Height!

right all fixed, tried the flaot height down but it starved it of fuel, tried it a little above but it leaked fuel, managed to stop this leaking by re routing the overflow on a more level angle as I think that it was siphoning when the bike leant towards the left. anyway all's well that ends well. Thanks for your advice, I am now an expert at removing and refitting the carb as I have has it off four times in the last two days, and can now take it iff the bike, strip it down completely and bang back on the bike without removing the airbox in just 25 mins, a vast improvement from 1.5 hours on my old Sherco.

    Beta Float Height!

right, looks like my mistake was that I tweaked the tangs, not the tab as the tangs were already tweaked, I will take it all apart again tomorrow and set it up again.
  11. The larger screw in the middle of the carb os the tickover screw, this has a tapered end and when you screw it in it will push the slider up, effectively holding the throttle open for you. the smaler screw sets the tickover air/fuel mixture, if your bike was going OK before then you shouldn't need to adjust this. hope this helps, you may find that your bike will still leak fuel out when on the stand and when pointing downhill, however abit of tinkering with the route of the tube on the overflow tube should stop this.
  12. sorry about getting the com and co mixed up, it took me a while to decide which one to put

    I Need A Ride

I don't mind its age, what kind of condition is it in? I don't mind having to fix some stuff myself, I would probably strip it all down and regrease bearings etc. Bob

    Beta Float Height!

Actually it is leaking out of the overflow, not the air tubes. do you think that I should put up with it for a while, change it or send it to John Lampkin who can do that mod.

    Beta Float Height!

Hi everybody, it is me again I just stripped my carb down to reset the float height as it was leaking out all the time, when the engine wasn't running. I adjusted the tangs so that they were pointing straight at the outside edge of the pilot jet casting when the carb is upside down, it is dribbling eery now and then, and it leaks out when leant to the left, what should I do, will this change have affected the bike? thanks bob

    Rev3

you can poke it down using a small flat screwdriver if you can't be bothered to take it off.

    I Need A Ride

Well they are going for about 110, unforturnately I have missed this one, is that mate of yours still selling his monty? I might end up having to save up for a new one. Mission prodigys are all 350 quid new, there are two different frames, and afew colours.

    Gear Oil/engine Oil?

I woul have thought that the plates would have swelled, you probably would have to change them, I don't think that it is too hard or expensive really, if you were going to take them out to clean them then I would just put new ones in anyway whilst you have it apart, thus saving doing it all again if it doesn't fix the problem.

    Gear Oil/engine Oil?

check forst before doing anything if it will have effected the clutch, it might be possible to spray in some cleaner of something to get rid of it, should be alright though.

    I Need A Ride

I think that I might end up going for a basic mission prodidgy as my mate has one and they are cheap but really fun, I might upgrade to maguras in a year or so, how muc better are they for just an hours practicing a week? thanks alot bob

    Gear Oil/engine Oil?

Oh right... Well engine oil goes in the engine and is mixed with the petrol, TTS is engine oil right. Gear or transmission oil goes in the gearbox. To fill it is the big bolt on the side which is silver, and to drain is the one underneath. I am not sure how putting this oil in will have effected the clutch, althugh everything else should be OK. a tip for changing your oil is to warm up the engine until you can feel the clutch case is warm before you drain the oil, and only put in 500 as approx 50ml will stick to gears and not wot. I am not sure whether you should run the bike though in this case in order to warm the oil though as it may have some effects, hope someone can help, and good luck. If you are unsure ask your dealer, thay are grateful for your custom so will do anything to keep you happy! Bob
  23. Atlast I've got round to doing something abut that throttle cable, I set the float height as described on here aswell so that should no longer be a problem, and the new throttle cable will be here soon so i will leave it all in pieces until that arrives. What I actually want to know is where my mixture screw should be round abouts just for future reference. Thanks for your help.

    Exhaust Packing

I all ways thought that the fluffy stuff was easier as you could push it in in small amounts, shows what I know though.

    Exhaust Packing

I would use exhaust packing! You can pick it up from almost any bike dealer, you can use the blanket stuff which lasts longer, but is harder to pack. Or you could go for fluffy packing, never used it myself, but it is apparently easier to pack, but doesn't last as long. I take it you have not done it before, If you do use blanket packing it is often useful to use abit of locking wire to hold it tightly around the holey tube before you whack it back in with your favourite whacking tool, no actually try to ease it in carefully so as not to bend the pipe, that was where I went wrong. Good luck
