You must be part of that mental 'posse' he was on about who go around doing 'wicked tricks'. He was quite impressed with what he saw you doing, I will tell him to get along to Scarborough and look out for you now that i can tell him you are friendly (alot of the BMXers round here are not).
I'm going to get a key for Low North this summer and go and practice there he will be able to come along with me.

Last that I heard was that they had imported two at the end of Feb, but that may have been inaccurate, If they had sold any then there would have definately been someone bragging about owning one on here. I hope it is soon though, I can't wait to see them!
-
Oh right, like that is it, I get confused easily. Well I will have another look later, i have never heard of this form though, whats it for???
-
This is the one you want for a Trials registration, it only took a minute to find, you obviously need to work on your stamina and don't give up so easily
-
Yep, that website is pretty useful, I think I will have to get a bike trials bike soon and have a go at one, there are actually more in my area than I had first thought!
Thanks
-
I think that there is still one on there

What exactly happened?
There are two types of oil, dot and mineral. If your gas gas reccomends any type of dot oil then using dot4 shouldn't have damaged it as their number is just about their boiling point ant their rate of moisture absorbtion or something like that, otherwise it is the same stuff, i think.
If it reccomends some other oil then you must use this as it could affect the o'rings, but you will notice weeping if it has.

A mate of mine just got a Fribest 200cc 4 stroke trail bike last night and for 800 quid new you just can't beat it!
It may not be as competative as the origonal jap bike it was copied from, but for a first road bike or a field bike it is awesome.
there were some bad design faults ofcourse as you would expect but not too many realyy considering its price, andall could be fixed with a 'tap' of a rubber mallet.
oh, and it has hydraulic disk brakes front and rear and they work! And it has electric start which is pretty useful!

cheers Luke, but you could have just told me rather than posting it on here, I talk to you pretty much every other day

Hi,
I have a 200 rev3 '03 and it is a really nice bike to ride, it has plenty of bottom end for even the larger of the people who have ridden it and wll chug up anything in third and with abit of speed fourth. But it will also rev VERY high aswell.
They are much smoother than the 250's which by the end of a trial seem to drag the rider round and any small blips on the throttle soon chuck you off line n a 250 when you are tired; wheras the 200 is much smoother and the rider is more in control.
I think that James Lampkin (hope that that is right, there are so many Lampkins) rides a 200 when he competes so they must be slightly better.

If you are at home or can set your tape recorder then trials is on every wednesday on Eurosport at 1pm

The petrol level is controlled by the floats which pivot and as they rise thay close a needle valve which stops the petrol from flowing in. If your float height is set incorrectly or if your needle valve is damaged then this could cause it to flood. I am not an expert really but it is easy enough to strip the carb apart to have a look.
Have you cleaned the spark plug and tried it running?
I know next to nothing about Fantics but with Betas if you park them downhill then they flood aswell, this might be a problem.
-
My ehhaust leaks oil everywhere but no smoke, It keeps the chain lubed up well so it is actually a good point!
-
yeah ignition is dodgy sometimes but if that is broken then I dont think that it will start atall.
-
Have you adjusted the tickover screw (in for more revs)? If yes then could it be some carburation problem like muck in the pilot jet?
-
The Xpeed is cheaper, lighter, and available in mre colours than the NZI Standard, and it has four vents compared to none on the NZI!
It was very good, especially with a graphics kit from Graffics
One problem though, the peak is abit wobbly at one side, I have tightened the screw tightly, is this OK, if it is then I'm not fussed as it is not a problem really so long as it isn't broken.
Here is another pic of my new helmet (Im so proud of it) you wouldn't believe how hard it is to take a picture of a shiny object in the dark though.

Hi everyone,
I live in North Yorkshire between york and Scarborough. A mate of mine has got a Mission trial bike, but are there any trials for him to ride round here? Do Scarborough DMC still do bike trials at Low North? Are they any good?
-
This is a section we had set up this morning for practicing on push bikes. It's really simple but really good fun as you can make gaps wider as you improve and put things in at awkward angles.
-
I have a similar area for practicing and it was really easy to set up.
Pallets are good but they aften fall apart, you can set them up at different angles to make them easy or impossible(diferent types of palettes are different to ride, big gaps between planks=more grip), stones or wide rocks would be good to support those.
If you can get some a couple of old oil drums are allways good, they get slippy and if you can dig a hole for them or jam it between two things then it should be good.
The other thing which we have are three big railway sleepers which are useful for making ramps and small steps.
Hope this helps!
Bob

I don't think it really matters what bike you are riding, so long as you use some high quality stuff. I am using Motul Transoil at the moment but it depends what my dealer has as to what I use. I think that it is supposed to be 10W30. Something like that anyway.
-
I got one today, it is a medium as the small I got to start with was too small. i also put some stickers on it, thanks for those Andy.
-
Could i put 50ml less in my Beta aswell, I noticed that since the last oil change the oil looked abit high on the gague and thus the clutch dragged, Is 50cc about a right amount to put in less, i suppose it isn't much.
And don't Sherco's have 450cc not 400 or have they gone down on newere bikes, my bike was a 2000, but RYP website said 450 on al bikes up to 2004. Im pretty sure it did...

It was me that said about copperslip on areas where steel is in contact with aluminium. I heard it from a meachnic (known as fix-it) who reckons to know alot about this kind of stuff.
Aparrently what can happen is that because the copper is not very reactive at all then the steel bolt or aluminium rusts loads (not sure which). This process is used when protecting underground metal pipes; a big lump of rective metal (usually magnesium) is bolted to the pipe and this rusts a lot but there is no rust on the pipe.
I am abit unsure of this but just oncase I now use a small blob of some thin white grease which has infact proved to be just as effective and tidier if you have it in a tube.
-
well mine did it too for a while but it stopped so I don't know what it was all about. When you drain your oil try warming up the bike next time, this will let the oil flow more freely, just get out there and ride and it should clear up.
-
Thanks for your advice, I did it this morning.
It was really simple and hasn't cost me anything yet. Big thumbs up to feetup Trialsport near Scarborough. They trusted me to pick up the part at 11pm from their fromt door when nobody was in and would let me pay for it next time I am their way, just so I could get going for the weekend.
