  1. Living in Guernsey there is a very limited amount of events - about 13 in total so I have been riding in the Kia and ACU twinshock events for the past couple of years. The cost of getting off the Island is expensive but the flip side of that is riding different sections / venues every time as opposed to riding the same area 3 times a season which is the norm on an Island with limited land suitable for trials. Most of the time I can usually find a Saturday trial to ride in too which makes the weekend better value for money.
  2. I'm up for it. Never been to the IOM before so I'm looking forward to it
  3. Many thanks for the reply. I am travelling over to the UK next week from Guernsey to pick up a Fantic twinshock and have just seen there is a trial 4 miles away from where I'm staying so I may as well put an entry in. Cheers
  4. Good evening, can someone please tell me if there is any reason why I could not enter an AMCA trial. I seem to recall there being a rule that if you were an ACU license holder you weren't permitted to ride in AMCA events or have I got that totally wrong?. Cheers in advance.
  5. Hi , I am travelling over to the UK from Guernsey on January 23rd to pick up a twinshock and was wondering if there are any trials on in the Portsmouth / Southampton area?
  6. Thanks for the reply, pretty annoyed because it wasn't even like I was doing anything difficult. I will give the epoxy a try and see how it goes. Cheers
  7. Hi, Just come back from a practice session and am now the not so proud owner of a scratched fork leg slider on my 2012 Gas Gas. The scratch has gone through the black coating into the metal beneath, has anyone had the misfortune to do this and if so how much is a new slider going to cost me?Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks for the reply. The 2012 bike has been used for 2 trials and has been sat in a garage due to the owner not having time to ride so it is virtually new. The guy has not experienced any problems since he has had the bike but after reading some of the threads on here the alarm bells started ringing. I have been offered the bike at a very good price and if it wasn't for the Formula issue I would have bought it by now. In an ideal world I would have preferred the bike to be fitted with Ajp parts but it seems too good a buy to miss when by the sounds of it the problem didn't affect every bike made.
  9. Thanks for the reply thedbf. From what I have read on here it seems that a lot of people have experienced problems so its nice to know that from what you have said it hasn't affected everyone. Maybe I'm just being over cautious .
  10. Hi, I am going to return to trials after a 10 year break and have found a couple of bikes locally that I am interested in. The 1st one is a 2010 250 Pro and the 2nd is a 2012 300. I have been riding trials on and off since I was 16 and am now pushing 50 so I have a bit of experience and my last bike was a 2003 280 Pro. Both the bikes are known to me and are both in excellent condition but I have read about the issues with the Formula brakes on the 2012 bikes and i'm a little concerned I may be giving myself a lot of hassle. My question is this, should the brake issue on the 2012 put me off buying the bike?. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
