Wobbler, you are more than welcome to come up and ride the trial.
It's probably the most relaxed trial(club) in the country.Great wee
venue and the cakes are worth the diesel alone.Great for twin shocks-
nothing silly just a good day out.

After all the warnings about gale force winds and heavy rain
it looked like Sunday's trial would be a bit of a disaster. Not
to be those who ignored the weather forecast and turned up
to ride had a mixed bag of weather(even sunshine). The event
itself was a great success, everyone raved about how good the
sections where. After the trial riders enjoyed a BBQ with
refreshments(the cakes did arrive) and everyone left with
full stomachs for the journey home. The trial raised £400
for MacMillan Cancer(big pat on the back to all that entered)
also thanks to Lothian Trials club for putting on great event,
Mrs Broon for helping the other girls with the BBQ.And not
forgetting Kelvin the landowner for use of his land .

bit of ground-cracking burn sections,rock sections,something for
everyone. Its a big lap with a cracking view at the top of the hill.
Perfect for twinshock/Pre 65.Not forgetting the cakes and BBQ
and its for a great cause.

"Oh aye there's a BBQ aswell"
-
Tam,a Friday night trial and a BBQ,could get a burger each lap.Seriously
where have all the Pre 65's gone ?(back in the shed till the Scottish next
year?) also the twin shocks ? (tucked up under a cover till Alvie).Tam and his
team work hard securing ground and laying out proper trials suited to twin
shocks and Pre 65's(nothing stupid and not bike wreckers ).So why notsupport
Tam and the Edinburgh St George Club's events. If you read this forum you
are obviously interested in classic trials so get the bike oot the shed and have
a cracking Sunday afternoon.
cheers the noo Brian
-
Thanks to Tam for a cracking trial today, great venue and challenging sections.
Pity more riders didn't turn up to support Tam,nearly got away with the weather
(a couple of heavy showers).Looking forward to the next one already Tam.

Ross, the auld ZX Spectrum cant cope.

Bashplate, the reason the picture is soooo small is the original
photo was from somewhere else. The original photo is alot bigger
and shows my scorecard hanging from the number board (not a nice
straight line on the left hand side-more of a zig zag )
cheers the noo Brian

When I fitted a smaller primary drive sprocket I removed
the lip where the chain fouls and fitted a new bearing to the
crank(which was a sealed type and removed the seal nearest
the crank).

Alf getting a wee bit hot

on the auld bike but had a good weekend a Hoggy's 2 day.Roll on Sunday.

Ross any chance you could bring your adapter to Alvie so I can check
the float height(I checked it and it was too high and set it but didn't
have an adapter so done it using the fuel tap and checked when the
needle switched off).

-
Cheers Bashplate, really looking forward to it.

Hi Ross, rechecked the timing as per instructions.Found a Dutch website
that sells the same ignition(think they import them into Britian through
Electrex World),and followed their set up instructions. The timing was out
about 10 degrees. The bike runs alot better carburation needs a tweak
(don't want to upset the neighbours).Seen the entry list for Alvie looks
mega.

Splashed oot last week and bought an Electrex World ignition for Alf.Fitted it and
it started fine but the carburation seems miles out.The bike ran fine on points and
pulled cleanly from the bottom end now it coughs quite abit and throttle response
isn't that sharp. The plug is sooty and before ignition was a nice brown colour. The carb
is brand new from Amal and as I said ran perfectly before the ignition. The exhaust
isn't clean and the bike smells rich and on the over run sometimes spits oot blue flames.
I set up the timing using a degree disc(rupert ratio book). The carb is running a 110 main
jet could any one please advise me on jetting or ignition timing any help would be much
appreciated as I have entered Alvie which isn't far away.

Well done Tam for a cracking(where's the eggs Turps? ) days trialing.
Challenging sections but nothing stupid,Cammy really enjoyed himself.
The auld Yam crashes well ,in the end my body gave up the ghost,
glad I'm on holiday tomorrow. Thanks once again for everyone involved
for putting on the trial and the farmer for the use of his land.
cheers the noo Brian
-
You can enter on the day and also join the club
on the day.The more the merrier. The trials are
well laid out for twinshocks and Pre 65's and the
venue is well worth the trip.
cheers the noo Broony
-
Barnettbob ,you could try ebay-type in race seat foam under motorcycle parts.
It comes in different thicknesses and sizes and is self adhesive.
cheers the noo Brian
-
Details of the trial is on the calendar section with directions.

Don't think I'll need the sunscreen Tam.As I have said previously
the ground is very similar to Kinlochleven so would make an ideal
shakedown for those lucky enough to get an entry for the Scottish
Pre 65. Dig the twinshock or Pre 65 oot the shed and support Tam.
cheers the noo Brian

Remember to change your clock as its the start of British Summer Time "1 hour
less in bed" on the 31st.just a wee thought last year at this time at Tam's first trial
we had a heatwave-fingers crossed but I'll no hold me breath,
