Anyone know how the coolant hose clips undo or tighten on a 2010 290 ????

I was out on my 2010 290 yesterday on the only summers day we will probably get this year, I found as the day went on the engine sounded kinda flat and the bike didn't pull as well as the start of the day. I am assuming the heat has something to do with it but anyone any ideas ?.

Hi, I have just purchased a 1992/93 Beta zero/gara for my son, I was tolded that its a 125cc but is there any way of confirming this ?

Hi Tony Its 70:1 fully synthetic, air filter nearly new, Choke is fine, Bike not lacking power since the clear out just Smokey, I think Copemech has the right idea, and a couple of blast down the road should clear things out ! Bryan

My 2010 290 started ruining very flat towards the end of the last event, very oily around the exhaust too, So thought it may have been a bad fuel mix or crap in the carb. flushed all the old fuel out and stripped/cleaned the carb out and just taken it for a blast down the road. Seems to pick up better but the exhaust is still very oily and on returning home form around a 2 mile road blast its also smoking more than I've seen before, (no nicorette jokes please) Do you think the exhaust could be oiled up ? if so will it need repacking and how ?

Try e-bay, push bike electric horn's, I got one from HK for under a tenner work fine does the job.

Managed to get out and use my 2010 290 today for the first time. It was a bit slippery due to the cold and I was and bit (very) rusty, but all in all had a good day out. Just something that did worry me a bit and that was the thick ish black oil that appears to be coming from the exhaust. It appears there is a small hole on the underside of the exhaust and its leaking onto the swinging arm. Also the exhaust pipe outlet is very black. Is this just a two stroke thing ? running at 80:1 mix i-pone oil

Just purchase a 2010 290, well about three weeks ago really but never had the time to ride it. However I have started it up but cannot engage a gear without it stalling. I have changed all the oils and bled the clutch but it still stalls when the gear is engaged until the bike is up to full temp. Even then the clutch drags slightly. Any ideals ??

Ah, looks like they should be different sizes even though the parts manual states they are the same !!! it just needed a quick buzz with a windy gun !!. Job done

Thanks for that but I have just found something more worrying. The bolts at the bottom of the forks are different sizes the larger one being the Left side I cant get out. I am starting to think that someone has stripped the thread and shoved a larger bolt in !!!

Just doing an oil change on the front suspension of a 2010 290! Right hand side allen bolt came out without a problem but the Left side just keeps turning without coming out !!!!!!! any ideas anyone ???

Just bought myself a 2010 2.9, back in the game after 35 years out !!!! its been ages (35yrs) since I've had to mix two stroke oil, now I believe sherco recomend a 60:1 mix but looking on here it would appear most use a 80:1 mix Any thoughts ?

Another oldie thinking of restarting up in the North West. Started riding a 250 Bultaco in 1974, also had a Montesa 247 UKR and my last was a Beamish Suzuki. Stopped when I moved into rallying in 1978 so thats a 32 year gap, Blimey I most be getting on at 50yrs !!!! So whats changed ? will being 50 make me a veteran ? Looking to get a Sherco as a friend works for a dealer, but whats this NO seat ! will my legs manage to stand all the time!.
