  1. Did you know there used to be a trials rider who only had one leg, he wasn't an old sluger either, he was a centre champion. I love this forum, it's light entertainment before beddybyes. The guy who wanted to fit his throttle on the left side, rattling clutches, siphoning carbs and now yorkshireman who wants the best boots cheap, or is it the cheapest best boots and doesn't want to travel ! Well Sammy Miller won several British Championships wearing industrial rubber boots, about a tenner chuffer and gauranteed to fit, as well as a one legged trials rider, there's an one armed and also a blind trials rider, not forgetting a famous blind sidecar passenger who passengered in national trials. The sliding dab, is my favourite, can really only be used in very muddy conditions, its a cross between a speedway rider and moon dancing, most observers give a dab upto about fifteen feet at which time I give the poor cold bedraggled observer two fingers and shout 'two mate', nine times out of ten I get the thumbs up reply. Finally the coverage of the World rounds with the downloadable movie type coverage, has been truly fantastic and brought another dimension to trials reporting, keep up the good work.

    240 Exhaust

On twinshock 240 Fantics, take of cylinder head, pass exhaust into position, , but do not fit, replace cylinder head, by moving, juggling exhaust. Then move exhaust away from any particular headbolt , that your doing up, then properly fit exhaust into exhaust port. That's how I do it, unless YOU know better.
  3. The del orto carbs, the needle end perishes with age, it's imperative to renew both the needle and seat, the new kit includes a washer that fits behind seat, this must be fitted also. After fitting do a blow test, blow down fuel tube into carb, air should pass into carb, invert carb, do same again, this time you should not be able to blow into carb, if you can, then its time to maybe tweek the float, or its more likely the float is interfering with the side of the float bowl. With patience the carb can be returned to a usable condition. The first time I did this test, I had some residual of fuel in the carb, which when the carb was inverted, I injested, to get rid of the taste, i went to my local pub and asked for a double scotch, the landlord replied, 'are you celibrating', I said no i've just done my first blow test, he said thats usually a time for celibration, I replied, I'm just trying to get rid of the taste.
