woody do you know the torque settings for the crank cases?

hi woody in the photo its the wrong way round it as a lip on it that fits snug into the bearing. i should say yes it wil turn. am sure the other gearbox out of a 199A as the same. ill check tomorrow i have the parts book cant remeber if it shows it.

yes i had the same problem once on a amal. and i did just has woody says above took me 2 seconds with a pair of ajusters.

hi joe yes they are am not putin mine in just yet untill ie had the forks hard chromed. the ones from inmotion are good just depends what you want. if you want to keep the bike original go for the normal seals. i only bought them because my 199B as already had alot of mods done to it they do look good on in the photo.

got 2 buy another main bearing as ive damaged 1 Oooooops that the only thing whats stoping me from finishing the build. so seeing as it bank holidy ill have to wait untill tuesday. the engin wont be back in the frame for some time yet as i need a wheel rebuilding. and the barrel needs a rebore and new piston. witch i will be doing in september. the barrel will be black the cylinder head is staying alloy. undesided what to do with the covers just going to try black covers on alloy bottom see how it looks. but thats a while of yet so ill keep you updated cheers bondy.

hi you cant push the clutch rod by hand. ive never had a Alpina but have the sherpas. so i can only tell you how the sherps clutch is set up. id gess the Alpina is probley the same. there should be a small ball bearing on the R/H side of the clutch this is called the throw out ball if its not there then the rod will not work. to find out if its there you need to take the plate off the clutch behind that you will see the mushroom rod take this out.and the ball should be behind it. you may have to poke the clutch rod from the other side to throw the ball out.looking at your photo i dont know what the brass sleave is. looks to me like it shouldnt be there. should be a small ball bearing.

hi just got my engin back from the vapor blasting shop so i can start the rebuild know yepee.

hi i got these seals off ebay go onto bultaco on ebay and you will find them. not sure of size with out looking as there in my shed. but will let you know.

hello joe ive bought some moden seals for my 199B but these will fit 199A

just had the conrod fited now waiting for the crank cases. and clutch cover. and barrel/head to come back from vapor blast.

the blue paint kept coming off so this black paint is hard wearing its what is used on the floor of pick up trucks its a rought finish but looks ok the fork sliders have been done the same. this bike is road Registered and is still taxed and moted. untill october but i havant took my bike test yet. so think this 1 will be my toy for summer time. i would have had it powdercoated but never botherd this time its worth doing but am just going to leave it. and put some clear heli tape pver the the frame to stop boot rub.

hi guys been trying to sort the gearbox out on my 198A am using a 199A crank case to learn how the gears go. as the 198A cases are being vapor blasted. anyway i think ive got it correct ive check and double checked with manual parts book the best i can. all gears are selecting so before i put the gearbox in the 198A i just want to make 100% sure its correct. hears some photos.

hi steve yes the the spring is preloaded and dose return. am just testing to see if i can get the gearbox to go in correct am using a 199A crank case has my 198A cases are away being cleand so want to get it spot on dont fancy doing it twice. i have all the new bearings ready to be fitted. and the crank is having a new conrod and new bearing. cheers.

hi guys dose anybody know if this is the correct way for the kickstart rachet? also will a 199A crank case fit the 250?

cheers Graham am on it the bikes stipt at the back end so am spraying the bits that ne doing. took the engin to be vapour blasted today. and took the new conrod to be fitted also today.

hello mate its a touch up with brush i need but i do have a can of bultaco blue its just a few bits that need touching up seeing as ive stript the bike i may jus mask and spray the bits.

not for bultaco blue i havant from inmotion its not skyblue its a diffrant code.
